You’ve probably heard of mind muscle connection but have you ever thought about mind fuel connection? IMO mind fuel connection is just as important.

For example.

Athletes know we can literally control the speed in which we digest fuel through our body, well, to an extent.
We can’t choose how fast but we can choose macros and when we want them to be absorbed and utilised through our body just by choosing nutrients mindfully and timing our meals accordingly.

I eat antioxidants every morning for breakfast. 1/2 cup of berries.
When I pair them with carbs (fast burning energy) and with fats (slow burning energy) ((FATS ARE FRIENDS)) I can ultimately digest these antioxidants for approx. 14 hours after I’ve eaten them, feeding my body an immediate and slow release of micronutrients that will help aid soreness, muscle recovery and damage control from training.

When you get down to the nitty gritty of nutrition it’s like your whole world opens up to the opportunities you have to fuel your body. Experiment with yourself and monitor your reactions to food ie performance, moods, satiety and energy.

It’s worth teaching yourself about nutrition, especially if you’re someone that trains often or an athlete that wants to reach potential. Wether that’s with training in the gym, body composition, sporting or competing.

Food for fuel ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Something I’ve been trialing lately is the effects of different foods pre-training.

The aim is to identify the best foods to fuel my body before training for optimal performance and results.

Beetroot is high in nitrates that our body converts into nitric oxide (NO) and NO is what provides us with the benefits mentioned above.

Try consuming beets 1-3 hour pre-training for best results.

They say on average it takes 75 days to form new habits.

It’s unrealistic to go from your intuitive diet to a calorie deficit or surplus and expect no mistakes.

Binge eating, drinking alcohol, relapse etc

We are human, mistakes are part of that. It’s about picking up on old habits and triggers and acting differently.

Instead of going 0-100
Focus on 0-20, 20-50, 50-100 and so on.

Grow through your experience & build a sustainable lifestyle through realistic progression.
