Mel advised that she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, whilst she was making a birthday present for her sister Nadine. During her support with Michele, Mel sat and completed a whole puzzle. The smile on her face shows how much she enjoyed completing the task!”

Our NDIS, WorkAbility, and Psychosocial Supports team members had a fantastic time at the local NAIDOC Week event held at Bega High last Friday! The Disability Trust Bega Valley team hosted a cookie decorating table for the event. It was wonderful to connect with the community, celebrate Indigenous culture, and learn more about this year's theme: The Next Generation - Strength, Vision & Legacy.
We're proud to support NAIDOC Week and its important message.

Ian travelled to Western Australia during June to compete in Ten Pin Bowling National Championships 🎳
Ian had a fantastic time and was well supported and looked after by his bowling team and coaches.
Ian won Bronze in the Singles Male division. This was a big achievement, and we are all very proud of Ian for competing but also travelling on his own and being confident to participate in the event in Western Australia.
He really enjoyed the plane ✈️ trip over and back, the food was yummy.

SEED Group spent the day celebrating NAIDOC week. We listened and watched ‘DADIRRI - understand breathe’ video. We did the ‘senses and spirit’ activity where we sat outside with our eyes closed and listened deeply to the sounds of the country and smelled the lands around us. We took a short walk gathering natural materials like shells, seeds, leaves, and other native flora. Jen and Gavin created some line art in the sand using their feet.
We also did some watercolour painting inspired by the Australian flora and NAIDOC Week.

Lucy has just moved to the Bega Valley from sunny Queensland, and brings a wealth of experience in the Disability Sector.
Lucy loves spending time with friends, family, and her two dogs, Stevie Nicks and Percy. Whether it’s a beach walk or a lazy Sunday, they definitely keep life entertaining!

🌟 Small Wins, Big Impact! 🌟
While every journey has its ups and downs, today we’re celebrating a positive step forward! Huge shoutout to our support team for embracing the opportunity to support Lachlan in making healthy choices—while always respecting his autonomy. 🙌
A creative approach to “Meal Prep Sunday” has clearly made a difference. From tuna salad to maple-infused chai pudding, Lachlan was all in—especially when it came to following the pudding recipe! 🍯🥗🍌
It’s been amazing to see Lachlan proudly showing off his healthy eating skills. His confidence in making choices (and sometimes choosing his own path!) reminds us of the importance of encouragement, shared decision-making, and respecting the right to take risks.
Every small win counts. 💪
