Ways to celebrate this years Winter Solstice! ❄️❄️❄️
This year the Winter Solstice falls on June 21st, marking the shortest day and longest night of the year, when the sun sits low in the sky, and winter feels at its deepest.
Everyone celebrates the Winter Solstice in different ways, for some a cold winter swim on the day is the way to go, others may like to get up nice and early to watch the sun rise and some change their altars over to mark the new season.
Here's some ways that our staff celebrate the Winter Solstice, hopefully to give you some ideas if you are struggling!!
✨ Meditate as the sun rises/Just watch the sun rise.
✨Enjoy a cup of herbal tea. Teas like peppermint, ginger, or hibiscus are a go to but you can drink whatever you like!
✨Take the time and make a conscious effort to notice a tree growing in your surroundings. We are living on a sacred land that has been guarded for thousands of years by the First Nations of Australia. Take the time to notice and appreciate the land.
✨Light a candle to honor the sun, for the Winter Solstice specifically, we recommend; white, red, green, gold & silver.
✨Refresh your altar to reflect more seasonal elements.
✨Burn herbs, herbs such as chamomile, blessed thistle and juniper are amazing. Chamomile holds relaxing properties, Blessed Thistle for protection, and Juniper to cleanse and promote new beginnings,
✨Attend a Winter/ Winter Solstice market or festival
Pop IN STORE or SHOP ONLINE for all your Winter Solstice needs, from the candles to the holders, charcoal burners and the herbs, all the many forms of smudge sticks we have AND if you're stills struggling, pop in and grab a book to help you along the way or speak to one of our amazing staff members!!
🤩🤩
Have a safe and lovely Winter Solstice!!
