Here are some of my favourite spectacle wearers! Whether they use eyewear as a form of artistic expression, to convey their personality, to hide or to outshine (or even just to see🤣).

These spectacle wearers are iconic and often influence us in our eyewear choices (Dame Edna has a lot to answer for! If I hear another person reject a cat eye frame or even a slight taper because they think it’s ’too Dame Edna, I’m going to scream 😂)

Bring your own prescription.

As an optical dispensary, I do not offer Eye Exams. 😢

I do however, offer; Funky Eyewear, Eyewear Care & Accessories, Prescription Lenses and professional advice. 😎

Your Optical Prescription is typically valid for 12-24 months, (dependent on your recall).

Optometrists are required to provide your optical prescription after an eye examination when requested.

If you would like assistance obtaining a copy, I am more than happy to help.

At Spex in the City, we are committed to reducing waste produced by the eyewear industry. Here are a couple of initiatives we offer:

- We are happy to re-use good quality (and in good condition) exisiting frames* (Reglazing).

A reglaze fee is charged to cover the cost of cutting and fitting lenses.

BONUS:
If you purchase a new frame and lenses at Spex in the City and IF you are still in love with an older pair you want to make into a back up pair of spex, Spex in the City will offer you 50% off lenses, plus free fitting* into your existing Spex.
