"Behind strong people there is a story that gave them no choice!" (Paulo Coelho)

Strength is often mistaken for something innate, as if resilience is simply a trait some are born with. But behind every strong person, there is a story—a story that gave them no other choice. Strength is not just built; it is forged in the fire of solitude, in the silence of battles fought alone, in the weight of burdens carried with no one to lighten the load.

Many will see the strength, but few will understand the suffering that shaped it. They will admire the unshakable presence, the unwavering resolve, yet remain unaware of the nights spent breaking before rebuilding. They do not know the moments when giving up felt easier, when hope was a distant flicker, when the world seemed unbearably heavy.
True strength is not loud; it is the quiet endurance of someone who has stood in the storm, felt its fury, and learned to walk through it anyway.

So when you see a strong woman or a strong man, do not assume their path was easy.
Know that their resilience was not a choice, but a necessity. And if you, too, are walking through fire, know this: you are not weak for feeling the weight of it. You are becoming. And one day, your strength will be the story someone else needs to hear.

One day it just clicks.
You realize what’s important and what isn’t.
You learn to care less about what other people think of you and more about what you think of yourself.
You realize how far you’ve come and you remember when you thought things were such a mess that they’d never recover.
And then you smile.
You smile because you are truly proud of yourself and the person you’ve fought to become ..

By shifting from negativity to positivity, or from self-loathing to a positive self image, you are in effect upgrading your DNA. Cortisol levels drop, and there is an increase in dopamine, seratonin, and oxytocin which are all help maintain a strong immune system and overall homeostasis. Your consciousness is more powerful than any disease.

As the world fights to figure everything out,

I’ll be holding doors for strangers,

letting people cut in front of me in traffic,

saying good morning,

keeping babies entertained in grocery lines,

stopping to talk to someone who is lonely,

being patient with sales clerks,

smiling at passersby.

Why?

Because I will not stand idly by and

live in a world where love is invisible.

Join me in showing kindness,

understanding, and judging less.

Be kind to a stranger,

give grace to friends who are having a bad day,

be forgiving of yourself – today and every day.

The highly sensitive tend to be philosophical or spiritual in their orientation, rather than materialistic or hedonistic. They dislike small talk. They often describe themselves as creative or intuitive. They dream vividly, and can often recall their dreams the next day. They love music, nature, art, physical beauty. They feel exceptionally strong emotions--sometimes acute bouts of joy, but also sorrow, melancholy, and fear.
Highly sensitive people also process information about their environments--both physical and emotional--unusually deeply. They tend to notice subtleties that others miss--another person's shift in mood, say, or a lightbulb burning a touch too brightly. ~Susan Cain

ANIMALS AND KARMA

Animals choose to come into our lives. They are part of our karma and we are part of theirs.

Sometimes they are found "abandoned" or wandering, in the middle of a road or in danger, in the heart of the night; other times they meet at the front door of the house, as fate sends them; other times they come from loved ones, neighbors or strangers.

At least the animals were already in our karma. In this life, as in the others.

According to Brian Weiss, the same animal often incarnates multiple times during our lives, simply changing shape and coat, and being recognized by small gestures, details, and subtle habits. This is clearly seen with cats.

When a "new" animal comes into our home and knows exactly where to go, it's a sign that it just says back.

Many people, at the moment of passing, receive the calming vision not of a deceased relative, but of an animal. This means a lot. Because for our soul there is no difference between one species and another.

Animals are on our evolutionary path just like we are on theirs, so we must respect them as sacred creatures and take great care of them.

They are part of us, in a different form of the universe.

WISDOM FOR PARENTING
1- Avoid Giving your child everything he asks for. He will grow up believing that he has the right to get everything he wants.
2-Avoid laughing when your child speaks insulting words. He will grow up thinking that disrespect is entertainment.
3-Avoid remaining insensitive to bad behavior that he can display without scolding him for his bad behavior. He will grow up thinking that there are no rules in society.
4- Avoid picking up anything that your child messes up. He will grow up believing that others must take responsibility for his responsibilities.
5- Avoid letting him watch any program on TV. He will grow up thinking that there is no difference between being a child and being an adult.
6- Avoid giving your child all the money he asks for. He will grow up thinking that getting money is easy and will not hesitate to steal for it.
7- Always avoid putting yourself on his side when he is wrong against the neighbors, his teachers, the police. He will grow up thinking that everything he does is right, it is the others who are wrong.
9-Avoid talking down about a family member or spouse it will teach them to hurt others and that conflict and hurting others is ok
10-Avoid showing them that not helping others in need is ok it will give them lack in grace.

To make things simple teach them grace and kindness in all things and treat them the way you would want them to be treated.
May our labor over our children not be in vain

She sat at the back and they said she was
shy
She led from the front and they hated her
pride
They asked her advice and then questioned her guidance
They branded her loud then were shocked by her silence

When she shared no ambition, they said it was
sad
So she told them her dreams and they said she was mad
They told her they’d listen then covered their
ears
And gave her a hug whilst they laughed at her
fears

And she listened to all of it thinking she
should
Be the girl they told her to be best as she
could
But one day she asked what was best for
herself
Instead of trying to please everyone
else

So she walked to the forest and stood with the
trees
She heard the wind whisper and dance with the leaves
And she spoke to the willow, the elm and the
pine
And she told them what she’d been told time after time

She told them she felt she was never enough
She was either too little or far, far too much
Too loud or too quiet, too fierce or too weak
Too wise or too foolish, too bold or too meek

Then she found a small clearing surrounded by
firs
And she stopped and she heard what the trees said to her
And she sat there for hours not wanting to
leave
For the forest said nothing, it just let her

breathe

As International Women’s Day 2023 has also fallen on World Forest Day, I had to share this today.

My mother always said getting older was a privilege denied to many. To all of my female friends from 50 years and up... most of us are going through a challenging phase of our lives. We're at that age where we see wrinkles, gray hair, and extra pounds. We've run households, had careers, raised families, paid the bills, dealt with sickness, sadness, grief, and everything else life has assigned us. We are survivors... we are warriors in the quiet... we are Women...aged like a classic car or a fine wine. Even if our bodies are not what they once were, they carry our histories, our souls, our courage, and our strength. We should never feel bad about getting older. It's a privilege that is denied to so many.
Enjoy every minute. 💜
