She is an author of five yoga and relaxation books. Katie also runs the IYTA's Restorative Yoga Training - IYTA is the International Yoga Teachers Association and is a non-profit organisation which has been established for more than 50 years

Recently I attended a screening of Corals’ Last Stand, starring John Butler & Tim Winton. It was powerful — it showed what’s at stake for Scott Reef a remote, vibrant coral atoll 300 km off WA’s coast.

Save Scott Reef — We Can’t Wait Any Longer

Corporate giant, Woodside is planning gas extraction underneath Scott Reef. Because it’s far offshore, they think maybe it’ll fade into distant memory.

But we can’t allow that. This place matters — to turtles, marine life, to so many of us who care. Check out these images from Scott Reef, (thanks to Greenpeace). 😊

If this project goes ahead:

The sandy island where turtles lay eggs could sink.
Hatchlings may be lured by light from the gas platforms — then sucked toward pipes or fall prey to sharks.
Coral ecosystems could be destroyed; many species will suffer irreversible loss.

Here’s what we can do now:

Sign the Greenpeace petition demanding protection for Scott Reef. I’ve put the link in my linktree (see my bio above).

Contact your local MP – tell them you oppose the Woodside gas extraction under Scott Reef.

Share this post — with friends, family, on your stories. Let’s keep Scott Reef in sight, even if it’s out at sea.

✨ Believe in Yourself ✨

One of my highlights this week was going to see Back to the Future at the Lyric Theatre (with my husband Alec and two sons, Lucas and Leo – pictured!).

We’d booked the tickets months ago and had no idea it was the opening night! 🤩

The show was absolutely incredible – honestly one of the best musicals I’ve ever seen. The special effects were so amazing, I felt like I was right there in the DeLorean, zipping through the time continuum instead of sitting in the theatre!

But the best part came after the finale, when Bob Gale, one of the original writers of the movies, stepped onto the stage.

He shared how the idea for Back to the Future was born — when, as a young man, he found his dad’s high school yearbook and wondered: If I went back in time, would I be friends with my dad?

That simple spark became the seed for an idea that changed pop culture.
But here’s the real kicker — his script was rejected not once, not twice, but 40 times! (Yes, four-zero 😲).

And yet, he never gave up. Today, Back to the Future is performed around the world — so much so that there are only four hours in any given day when it isn’t being performed somewhere!

A beautiful reminder that with self-belief and persistence, anything is possible. 💫

Keep going. Trust your journey. Believe in yourself.
