On Saturday, our team from Relationships Australia Tasmania proudly joined the Pride March, and what a great day!

There was a real sense of joy, love and belonging in the air. Walking alongside community members, families, friends and allies was a powerful reminder of why connection, respect and inclusion matter so much in the work we do every day.

We’re grateful to stand with the LGBTQIA+ community not just on Pride Day, but all year round - supporting safe relationships, inclusive spaces and communities where everyone feels seen and valued.

Thank you to everyone who shared smiles, stories and sunshine with us.

Today marks the anniversary of the 2008 National Apology to the Stolen Generations.

On this day, the Australian Government formally said sorry for the policies that forcibly removed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, communities and cultures.

The Apology acknowledged the deep and lasting harm caused by these practices and recognised the strength, survival, and resilience of First Nations peoples. It reminds us why truth-telling, healing and cultural safety remain so important.

Our organisation stands with the Aboriginal community in lutruwita/Tasmania, recognising their strength, resilience and ongoing connection to country. We honour the Stolen Generations, their families and descendants.

PLAY can be one of the easiest ways to build closeness with your kids, especially for dads. No big conversations needed.
You just need to join in.
You don’t have to do it perfectly.
Five minutes of play.
Undivided attention.
No phone.
That’s where connection lives.
If you'd like help connecting with your kids, visit https://tas.relationships.org.au/relationship-education-learning-program/
Big shout out to Clarence Children’s Services for inviting dads to join Relationships Australia Tasmania in "Connect and Play" over the school holidays at their holiday care services.

We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this land and recognise that they have lived on, been connected to, and cared for this land for over 60,000 years.

January 26 holds different meanings for different people. For many, it is a time of reflection rather than celebration. In recognition of this, RA Tas will remain open for business on Monday. Our team members have the option to take leave that day, or on an alternative day to celebrate Australia in a way that feels right for them.

Our hope is together we will find a way to ensure a more connected and respectful Tasmania for all.
