Yesterday, our team wore denim in solidarity for Denim Day.
Denim Day traces back to a 1992 case in Italy, where a r**e conviction was overturned based on the claim that tight jeans implied consent. The decision sparked global outrage, with women in the Italian Parliament wearing jeans in protest. That moment became a powerful symbol of challenging harmful myths and shifting the narrative back to where it belongs.
Denim Day continues to highlight the importance of respect, consent, and believing victim-survivors, a reminder of the role we all play in building a more connected and respectful Tasmania.
