Excite Health & Fitness provides a premium training facility and personalised service to ensure you experience a life changing sense of well-being. We have a passion to assist our clients achieve their goals. All clients go through a detailed goal setting process, where we drill down to the real WHY a client wants to get fitter and healthier. We then plan the achievement of those goals via 3 strea

ms of services.

1. Group Training (intensive cardiovascular exercise) - awesome supportive group, 30 min sessions, 9 times per week.

2. Strength Training through either Personal Training, where we individualise clients training into a 10 week training block or Group Strength Training (F.I.R.E. - focused intense resistance exercise) over a 10 week training block. At the end of the training block, we review, re-assess, set new goals, then plan the next training block.

3. Nutrition through the science and research based Metabolic Precision program. This program works in with your training over 12 weeks and improves our clients nutrition structure and understanding of the balance between nutrition and exercise. When we combine all these services, our clients have very a well rounded, and holistic solution to their health and fitness goals.

It’s Never Too Late to Get Stronger

I’m too old to start now.” “I’ve never done strength training before.” “What if I’m not fit enough?”

These are the stories we tell ourselves but here’s what the science says:

A study from McMaster University (2014) showed that adults in their 70s and even 80s can gain strength, mobility and independence with just 12 weeks of guided strength training.
In fact, one of the study’s lead researchers said:

“Muscle is like a renewable resource — it responds to training at any age.”

We all know that exercise is good for us. But what most people don’t realise is just how powerful strength training is for your mind.

A major study by the University of Sydney (2016) found that adults aged 55+ who strength trained just twice a week experienced:

Why Strength Training Is Your Body’s Secret Weapon (At Any Age)

As we get older, staying strong becomes less about vanity — and more about vitality.

By the time we hit our 40s and 50s, our bodies naturally begin to lose muscle mass — a condition known as sarcopenia. Left unchecked, this loss affects balance, metabolism, joint health, and even independence in later years. But here's the good news: this process is completely reversible — with the right kind of training.

That’s where strength and resistance training comes in.
A major study from Harvard Medical School (2019) found that strength training in adults over 50 improves muscle mass, bone density, and physical function, and reduces the risk of falls by a staggering 34%. Even just two sessions per week can significantly improve mobility and confidence.

The Story behind Excite

Chris has been very successful in business throughout his life, but his passion is helping people achieve their dreams through health and wellbeing. When you have your life in balance with good health through fitness and nutrition, anything in life becomes possible.

How did this transition happen from corporate CEO to Excite Health and Fitness?

Well, some time in the early 2000’s, I was 15kg more than I am now, my mates were telling me I was a prime candidate for a heart attack, my wife was worried about me…but I motored on…working long hours, and not having much perspective in life.

Then the penny dropped. Not sure why…something to do with not fitting into clothes anymore, how I just felt unwell, but really it was wife and family – they needed me and I wasn’t doing my end of the bargain.
