This Friday, headspace Orange is teaming up with Orange High and Veritas House – the key youth homelessness service in Orange – for a student-only fundraiser BBQ at OHS.

This idea came from our incredible Youth Reference Group, who are passionate about taking real action for young people in our community.

🧡 Why it matters:
🟢Last year, over 17,000 young people in NSW accessed homelessness services – nearly half of them were under 24.
🟢According to a 2022 Vinnies report, around 128 people in the Orange electorate are experiencing homelessness, including youth and families.

This year’s theme is – and this event is one small way we can make a big difference.

🧠💚 headspace Orange in the Community 💚🐟

We’ve been out and about lately, connecting with our local communities and having some great yarns about mental health!

🔸 On Saturday 20th July, Jessie and Pat from headspace Cowra headed out to the Canowindra Carp Muster, hosted by Cabonne Council at the Age Of Fishes Museum Canowindra. With around 50kg of carp caught, it was a big day of fishing and even bigger conversations about mental wellbeing!

🔸 Then on Friday 25th July, Jessie and Rosie, our Youth Care Coordinator, popped down to Bunnings Orange for a Mental Health BBQ. We teamed up with other local mental health services to chat with people about looking after themselves and checking in with their mates.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat — every conversation matters 💬💚

Celebrating 50 years of NAIDOC Week 💛🖤❤️ 💚💙🤍

NAIDOC Week 2025 is all about The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.

Our peer worker Winnie is a proud Wiradjuri person and had this to say about NAIDOC 2025.

She is pictured in the more recent photo with one of her biggest inspirations Brooke Blurton a proud Noongar-Yamatji woman, youth worker and mental health advocate who she was over the moon to meet last year!

We are looking forward to taking part in the Orange NAIDOC events later on in the year!

It’s been a creative time at headspace Orange lately 🎨

In our Creative Chaos, Kaleidoscope, and Jellybeans groups, young people have been making some awesome gingerbread houses (just to look at — not to eat! 🏠🍬) and pick-me-up Post-Its with kind words, fun dino facts 🦕, and little drawings.

If you’re in the space and feel like you could use a small lift, grab a Post-It from the wall — they’re there for anyone who needs one 💚

Big thanks to everyone who’s been part of making headspace feel welcoming, colourful, and kind.
