Today is Daffodil Day! 🌼

Almost one in two Australian’s will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.

For all that cancer takes, let’s give hope.

Daffodil Day is today! 🌼

Cancer takes so much from us. Our mums, uncles, friends, workmates and even parts of ourselves. Today is our moment to give something back.

The F.A.S.T test (Face, Arms, Speech and Time) is an easy way to learn the common signs of a stroke.

If you are concerned, ask these simple questions:

🧑‍🦰Face – Has their face or mouth drooped?
💪Arms – Can they lift both arms?
💬Speech – Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you?
⌛Time is critical – If you see any of these signs, call Triple Zero (000) immediately and ask for an ambulance.

A stroke is always a medical emergency, and knowing the signs could save someone’s life.

August 4 is National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day! 🎉

A day for us to come together, and celebrate the culture and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

This year’s theme is ‘Little Footsteps, Big Future’. It reminds us to nurture children and young people's voices and dreams—as well as their connections to community, culture, and Country ❤️

As we celebrate , AccessHC is honoured to partner with the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School.

MITS is a specialist boarding school-offering young Indigenous students from regional and remote communities extraordinary education pathways, and opportunities.

We couldn’t be happier to see the MITS students enjoying their new Church Street home (previously our Richmond site), and to play a small part in the bright futures the MITS team are creating.

Here’s a recent snap of the MITS Yidaki Fellas - who treated us to a special performance recently as we celebrated the launch of our Goodwood Street site🎶

We’re also lucky to have our very own gallery of MITS student artwork, make sure to check it out when you visit! 🎨

📣Today, July 28, is World Hepatitis Day.
This year's theme is 'Test it, Treat it!' — a reminder that we have the tools to prevent and treat hepatitis-related illnesses.

Some quick facts this World Hepatitis Day:
💡more than 74,000 people in Victoria are living with hepatitis B, or hepatitis C—increasing their risk of liver disease and liver cancer.
💡treatment is available. There is a cure for hepatitis C and a vaccine and effective treatments for hepatitis B.
💡chat to your GP about getting a test, or call Liverline on 1800 703 003 to find a provider near you.

By busting myths, fighting stigma, and raising awareness about hepatitis-related illnesses, we can make sure no one is left behind. To learn more, check out the LiverWELL website https://loom.ly/VREG0UQ

🎉It's still Disability Pride Month for a little longer, and we're celebrating by shining a spotlight on our Child and Family team (CFT)!

📅No day looks the same for our CFT staff, who do incredible work in the disability space—advocating for, and supporting clients and families.

💬Whether it’s working on speech sounds, attending a care team meeting, running a social skills development group, or completing assessments—the Child and Family team are passionate about building meaningful relationships in our communities.

💡Recently, the team have been focusing on the theme of 'Child Agency'.
They've been involved in important training and discussions—about empowering children to have their own voice.
By listening and supporting children to be who they are, it means a more inclusive future for everyone❤️

Thanks to the Child and Family Team for all your hard work!
