Curious about Yin Yoga or interested in deepening your practice and learning to teach?

Join us for a relaxed evening to experience the practice and learn more about our upcoming Yin Yoga Teacher Training.

The evening will begin with a Yin Yoga class, inviting you to slow down, release tension, and experience the meditative qualities of the practice. Afterwards, Michelle and I will share information about the training, including what you’ll learn, who it’s for, and how the course is structured. There will also be time to ask questions.

Whether you’re considering the training or simply want to experience Yin Yoga, you’re warmly welcome.

Prenatal Yin = So good!

Here I was at 37 weeks pregnant demonstrating some of favourite Yin Yoga poses. The practice of Yin invited a breath of fresh air into all the spaces of my body that were craving release - low back, outer hips, hip flexors… and while simmering in stillness, it was a precious time to connect with my baby.

I’ve taught many pregnant women in my Yin classes over the years. I’m enthusiastic about offering variations to meet a range of needs and capabilities, including the pregnant lovelies!

Learn how to teach pregnancy modifications for each trimester, prop usage, and contraindications. (Please note: this is not a prenatal yoga teacher training)

I hear so many students use the word “tight” to describe sensations they feel in their Yin Yoga practice.

This is usually presumed to be muscular tightness, but could also be tight ligaments, tight fascia, scar tissue and adhesions. When our natural stopping point in a pose is due to restriction in the tissues, this is called ‘tension.’ After a minute or so, the body softens and yields, and greater depth is possible…but not always!

When one part of the body hits another part of the body - this is called ‘compression’. It could be flesh hitting flesh, flesh hitting bone, or bone hitting bone. This is a structural limit, not a flexibility problem.

The disease of yoga is always searching for the next level. But ultimately, the absolute limit of ROM (range of motion) is compression. And you can practice ‘til the cows come home, but yoga can’t change the shape of your bones!

In Yin Yoga, Half Butterfly, Half Shoelace, and Half frog are used interchangeably, as they are different variations for the same target area!

It was just last week I had a student in class really struggling to yield into Half Butterly. Her bent knee was not comfortable in the external rotation and restricted her from coming into the forward fold.

I suggested to explore bringing the bent knee into the internal rotation of Half Frog instead, which also changed the tilt of her pelvis. And sure enough, she was able to bring her upper body all the way down to meet her thigh and found a delicious hamstring stretch that she couldn’t access before!

As the long endless summer days are winding down, we give way to the pause of late summer and move into the season of the Earth Element. This time acts as a bridge between transitions to digest our experiences and reap the fruits of what has been previously sown to nourish us fully.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the transformative qualities of the Earth Element reside in the Stomach and its partner organ, the Spleen. These organ systems relate to our digestive fire and ability to receive - which includes food, but also extends to receiving affection, support and kindness. On an emotional level, the Earth Element gifts us connection to our home planet and feeling at home within ourselves.

Join us for a nourishing evening to bring you back to your centre. You’ll be guided through a 75-minute Yin Yoga practice with Christine, followed by a 45-minute sacred Didgeridoo Sound Bath with Rufus Rogey of Earth Song Healing.

Dear Friends & Followers,

Wow, what a wild ride 2025 has been!
At the beginning of the year I was continuing to navigate through some pretty intense birth trauma, a nervous breakdown, moderate bilateral hearing loss…and being a new mum! I didn’t know what my future looked like and seriously questioned if I would ever teach yoga again.

And then slowly, slowly. I started teaching classes to rekindle my passion and connection. Followed by the excitement of offering numerous events and near the completion of the year, I co-taught a very successful Yin Yoga Teacher Training! 🤯

Honestly, I’m still in awe…and I know this transition could not have been possible without a lot of inner strength and perseverance, receiving various healing modalities, and incredible encouragement and support from this community! I want to sincerely thank you for generosity, words & actions of support that have carried me through this intense time. I am truly grateful! 🙏💗

Our comprehensive Yin Yoga Teacher Training will immerse you in a fundamental and functional approach to Yin Yoga, helping you guide students of various skill levels and meet individual student needs.

Some special moments captured by from our very first Yin Yoga Teacher Training!

Celebrating the radiant souls who’ve now completed the in-person part of our 100 hr Yin training Yoga Centre. Thank you for showing up from a place of authenticity, vulnerability and an openness and eagerness to learn & grow. A big congratulations to you all as you step into the role of teacher!

These last 5 days have brought so much joy to my heart! Honestly, this training had been brewing for years. Thank you Michelle Freeman for our seamless collaboration, and giving me the nudge to share my passion, manifesting this dream into reality. I’m incredibly grateful to share my love of Yin and the rich lineage of wisdom from my teachers and their teachers. ♥️

The Ancient Chinese have a sophisticated system of traditional medicine that supports health and vitality. Part of this system is the Chi Cycle that charts the flow of energy which rests in different organs at specific times of the day. This Chi Cycle circulates in a 24 hour period and represents the time of day when each organ is functioning optimally and has the most energy.
