It’s natural to feel a little hesitant about asking ‘are you OK?’ It can feel awkward or too personal. And you might worry about what you will do or say if the answer is ‘no, I’m not OK’?

But the good news is 9 in 10 Australians report feeling grateful, supported and cared for when someone genuinely asks them if they're OK. This means that you are contributing to improved feelings of wellbeing in those around you simply by asking the question.

Nevertheless, if you need tips to build your confidence, R U OK? have plenty of free and practical resources to help you check in with someone you care about.

Ask R U OK? Any Day because a conversation could change a life.

From Pain to Power - Women's Health Week 2025

Many of us accept pain as some kind of inherent ‘burden to bear’ – but women shouldn’t expect themselves to push through pain alone. So let’s turn things around!

Read more about pain, what is normal and what is not, and how to empower yourself in the management of pain, with the support of others: https://www.jeanhailes.org.au/womens-health-week/whats-on/pain-to-power

A fabulous service and a great cause. Well worth your donations and support.

A fabulous service and a great cause. Well worth your donations and support.

Spring is here, and so is our annual Seeds of Hope Fundraiser! 🌸

At The Blue Butterfly Institute, we believe in creating a world where all people can live happy and fulfilled lives. Our programs support victim survivors of sexual trauma and their families - always free of charge.

By purchasing a $10 packet of Seeds of Hope, you’re planting more than flowers. You’re sowing courage, healing, and empowerment for those on their journey from caterpillar to butterfly.

Just like a seed that takes time, care, and patience to bloom, healing is a process of nurturing hope until it blossoms into something beautiful.

💙 $10 includes postage and handling
💙 Your garden will bloom, and so will the spirits of survivors who feel seen, supported, and safe
💙 Every seed packet is a reminder that from darkness, beauty can grow

✨ Create something beautiful from the darkness.

Women's Health Week - 1-5 September 2025

Women’s Health Week is Australia’s largest event dedicated to the health and wellbeing of all women, girls and gender-diverse people.

This year, the theme is ‘Say yes to you’ and each day we're focusing on a different health topic to help women prioritise their health and wellbeing.

Today is all about taking charge of your own health. Many of us find this challenging but Jean Hailes for Women's Health has developed a great tool to help you take the lead next time you visit your health professional.

September is Su***de Prevention Month

***dePreventionMonth reminds us that talking about su***de isn’t harmful — silence is.

One honest conversation can be a turning point in someone’s life, so don’t be a bystander.

Throughout this month we will be sharing a number of resources to help you help others who are in crisis - starting with this excellent and practical resource from NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

WILMA is so excited to have facilitated the amazing team from Consent Labs to deliver their 'Consent Fundamentals' program to year 10 and 11 students at Thomas Reddall High School today.

Consent Labs teaches the 'Affirmative Consent' model to support young women and men to enjoy healthy and respectful relationships.

Pictured here with facilitators Janice and Natalia, I couldn't help but note how applicable the skills and info provided are to me, even now (...a long time since I was at high school).

I'm looking forward to the follow-up sessions to be held in October.
