Ohh yes- something we see far too often in the practice: autistic girls and women being missed, misunderstood, or diagnosed much later due to high masking.

Alongside trauma-informed work, one of our core specialties is identifying ASD in high-masking females — including those who have learned to camouflage from a very young age.

If this article resonates with you, or you’re wondering whether autism may be part of your own story (or someone you support), you’re very welcome to contact us for diagnostic screening and support 💜 E: info@sagemind.com.au Ph: (02) 9030 0393 www.sagemind.com.au

Females may be just as likely to be autistic as males but boys are up to four times more likely to be diagnosed in childhood, according to research. https://buff.ly/LhhNyx1

It’s about 6 years since I realised I’m autistic, and I STILL keep going over things! I’m not sure I’ll ever stop having those ‘aha!’ moments….

“Finding out that you are autistic as an adult is like watching a film with a plot twist at the end.
You have to go back to the beginning and look at it again with fresh eyes.
Suddenly you can see the things you didn’t even know to look for.”

A lot of our mums that come through the door are first here for their kiddos- and then often end up seeking answers for themselves 🥹🙌🏼 It’s not always about needing a formal signature on a diagnosis, but simply understand themselves and their life in a much clearer light ✨

We know that neurodivergence has genetic links- we can help you with questions about yourself as a parent too😊👍🏻✨

Stuart Duncan, 40, from Timmins, Ontario, quit his web developer job to run Autcraft, a Minecraft server for children with autism, full-time.

Created in 2013 after seeing parents search for bully-free gaming spaces, the server received 752 emails within 48 hours and now has 8,000 users.

Duncan upgraded from bottom to top tier hosting within eight days. The heavily monitored platform uses plugins preventing swearing and fighting, with players earning helper ranks.

After six months, Duncan started receiving confessions from two suicidal children weekly who felt bullied.

Parents report children are “interacting better” and “making friends at school because they were learning how to socialize more.”

If there are any little ones who would love to do this🥰✨🙌🏼
