Fresh parsley, broccoli, flax, collagen, leftover lettuce, spinach, coconut water, frozen mango. Too cold but still delicious.

On location today. It feels like a mystery location as not many people know this place in the city exists. It's so beautiful with all the plants and trees everywhere. Today is mulch making day, where branches and twigs are crushed to make mulch.

One of the most significant differences between massage and cupping is this: massage is a pressing of muscles and structures, a compression, cupping is a lifting and separating of tissue. Which is more beneficial? It may depend on who you ask and your preference. While I am new to cupping, it's important to do both I believe. Myofascial cupping is different again as the cups move over the surface, releasing the fascia, instead of simply static cupping.

Graves disease is an immune system disorder. The result is in the overproduction of thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism). A number of disorders may result in hyperthyroidism, and Graves' disease is a common cause.

What if I told you a good friend of mine, after over a decade on medication, has managed to heal herself and her Specialist has said she can go off her medication, completely!

I'd love to share my friend's testimony if you're interested..... 💁😉

My last client of the day....a sneaky photo through the curtain of the room. It was fascinating watching the reflection of the sunset on the buildings during the appointment (of which the majority of my attention was in of course). 😃

What if when we feel or experience pain, we remembered that it's our body's way of telling us something is wrong? 🤔
What if it means we might need hands on treatment with massage, physiotherapy, osteopathy, acupuncture, infrared patches? 😊

I have never named a tree or a plant before, but I decided to name my newly planted dwarf avocado tree Abi. Abi Avo may take seven years to produce fruit, so I'll just have to be patient.
Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fats, vitamin K, folate, potassium and vitamin C. They are great for our heart.
It also reminds me of my second home, South Africa 🌍💗

My final of five reasons that I have regular massage is because it supports my immune system (nurture, selfcare, easing restrictions, positive touch, time with a trusted friend) and it also helps me sleep well. I have a strong immune system and I sleep well, but massage assists with that.
If you are someone who struggles with the idea of someone invading your 'personal space' in the proximity of massage, you can consider all the ways to have massage and a skilled massage therapist like me support you while you keep all your attire on. Please reach out if this is you.
Remember, regular to some is weekly, monthly, perhaps every change of season....well not the current changes as that could be daily 😁
I hope to see you soon.

The fourth of five reasons why I like to have massage, is because it reminds of what I do for and TO others (wink). YES, you read correctly. I like to be reminded of how I treat others in communication, techniques, pressure and more. It's one of the ways I do continual self-management in my small business as caring for you as you walk through my door and receive your treatment is very important to me.

Cobweb alert....
On the subject of fascia (connective tissue), did you know that it is literally the substance that holds us together? In a skeleton in a class we see it pinned together. In reality, the fascia supports everything together. If it wasn't there, we would not have the ability to do anything, to move.
Cobwebs are a wonderful way to demonstrate how fine and beautiful the fascia is. I tried to show you how a gentle tug can distort the shape of the whole cobweb (fascia). A local knot or injury can also pull the fascia out of shape distally. If you feel stuck in your body with chronic pain, long time injury, or an acute injury you'd like to resolve, I may be able to help. :-)

I want to share something very special to me with you.....this was my home growing up. Country girl through and through. I thrive in open spaces, and landscapes. I rode a bike in the dusty roads, tried to sell painted rocks, climbed trees, fetched eggs from tractor seats, swam in a huge aboveground water tank and played with tadpoles we found at the well. Somehow I morphed into a remedial therapist, and I love supporting people, maybe you. Happy Sunday.

Let's talk myofascial release!
What can I say about my two day cupping course after day 1?
HAPPY!
I'm learning so much about how I can support people who need fascia release, are feeling stuck in their range of movement, can't seem to get the improvements they seek with a hands on therapist.
The web like structures of fascia are fascinating. I watched a video today that actually enabled me to see the absolute beauty in this structure. It's stunning, genius, full of reflective light, hydration....and that's why I love doing what I do.

Nourish your body

Working with remedial massage, relaxation and general allied health styles, I added craniosacral therapy, myofascial release and Nutritional Medicine to my treatments to offer a more tailored plan for my clients. There are many paths you can choose from that will help you find the nourishment that you need. I would like to be a part of that process and work with you.

With a hands on massage approach, I focus on the actual skeletal structure with the muscles, lifestyle, stressors and what you are wanting to achieve with your treatment. I can incorporate a plan to include relieving tension in the mind, emotions and spirit or whatever is relevant to you on the day of your treatment.

It can be difficult and overwhelming for some people to know what food to eat for enjoyment, and to help support their needs, depending on their stage of life, or for disease prevention. With my passion for whole body wellness, I’ll advise and coach you on healthy, fun and tasty choices that help you enjoy food as was intended from the beginning of time.

Together we can help you enjoy life and nourishment!
