"You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending." - C.S. Lewis.

It’s easy to get caught up in "should haves." But the most powerful move you can make is acknowledging exactly where you are standing right now. That is the only place growth can actually start. 🌱💚

Emotional Safety is a Shared Project. 🕊️ Today is World Infant, Child, and Adolescent Mental Health Day. This year's theme is about developing emotional safety in a post-pandemic world.

Protecting the next generation starts with building communities where they feel truly heard and protected. When we show up with presence and listen without judgement, we help build the resilience they need to thrive. 🫂

Did you know that staying calm and steady can actually help settle the person next to you? 🤝 We’ve all felt how one person’s anxiety can ripple through a room – but the opposite is also true. This is Co-Regulation.

Our nervous systems are constantly looking to one another for cues. When someone we care about is overwhelmed, their system is searching for a signal of safety. If we can stay grounded and hold our own centre, we provide a "template" for them to follow.

It’s not about ignoring the problem or having all the answers. It’s about understanding that your presence is a practical tool. By staying steady, you are helping their brain return to a state of calm.

Next time someone you love is struggling, remember: You don't have to fix the storm. You just have to be the shore. ⚓

When your world feels small and stuck inside your own head, try the "Look Up" rule. Physically lift your gaze to the furthest point you can see – the horizon, the tops of the trees, or even the corners of the room. This simple shift in perspective helps signal to your nervous system that you are safe and in a wide, open space. 🌿

"You are not a work in progress for the sake of being finished; you are a person to be present with." – Morgan Harper Nichols.

We often spend our lives waiting for the "arrival" – that moment when everything is finally handled and we can finally rest. But your worth isn't tied to your productivity or your "finished" state. Be kind to yourself in the middle of the mess today. 🫶

Did you know that "Unmet Expectations" are a major drain on your capacity? 📉 When we expect a day to go perfectly and it doesn't, the disappointment uses up more cognitive fuel than the actual problem. Practicing "radical acceptance" of the day as it is can preserve your energy for what matters. 😌

We often think we have to be "perfect" or "a disaster," with no room in between. But the most sustainable growth happens in the messy middle. ⚖️ Learning to be okay with "good enough" saves a massive amount of mental energy.

Before you plan your week, check your emotional reserves. 🔋 Are you starting the week at 20% or 80%? Be honest about what you actually have the presence for this week. It’s okay to adjust your expectations based on your current fuel levels.
