I love that through Yoga we can truly met and welcome ourselves just as we are. I am passionate about how practicing Yoga can make life more lovely. As a naturally stressy, overachieving kind of person I'm so grateful to have discovered that Yoga and meditation are amazing tools that can help me to flow with challenges and move through times of crisis with a vast reduction in anxiety and stress. In a Yoga class with me you will be invited and supported to go through a range of physical movements and held poses that are intended to give you an opportunity to breathe fully, move healthfully and practice mindfulness. You will be encouraged to use your Yoga practice as an opportunity to practice being with what arises while also making healthy choices about what is right for your individual body. I am a great believer in pain, no gain and you will never be encouraged to do anything which feels unsafe or harmful to you. I believe that a physical Yoga practice which is guided by the quality of your own breath offers great benefits and you will often hear me emphasis the importance of letting your own breath guide your movement. My Yoga teacher training began with the Santosha Yoga Institute in group and private classes, pre and post natal yoga and children and teens yoga. As an ethical Yoga teacher I seek to engage with both ancient and modern wisdom and attend ongoing trainings to keep my personal and professional yoga practice fresh and relevant to both myself and clients. In addition to my personal and professional passion for yoga instruction I also have a Diploma in Counselling with the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors, a Diploma in Speech and Drama Teaching with the Trinity College of London and am a qualified primary school teacher. I love sharing my knowledge of how yoga can be integrated into a holistic and modern approach to improving our overall health and wellbeing (in conjunction with conventional medical approaches when appropriate).
