✈️💡Flying with a wheelchair? Dion’s here to help!
Traveling can be tricky, but with the right prep, it doesn’t have to be stressful. In this video, Dion shares practical wheelchair travel tips for getting on a plane safely and smoothly. 🧳💺
✅ Tags are needed on your chair for staff assistance, to have your manual chair brought to the airplane door on arrival and your battery if taking powered assisted devise.
✅ Inspect the airline's aisle chair before using it.
✅ Remove sideguards from your chair and keep them with you — they often go missing.
✅ Bring an extra seating cushion to transfer with.
✅ Fasten your seatbelt (clip or Velcro, depending on the plane).
✅ Keep your powered assisted device battery on your lap.
✅ Tuck in your arms when rolling down the aisle.
✅ Place your seat cushion on the airplane seat before transferring. If it’s inflatable, make sure the valve is accessible — air pressure can cause it to expand mid-flight.

A place doing groundbreaking work to improve mobility and quality of life for so many.
