Residents from Regis Magnolia visited Regis Camp Hill for a cooking activity that brought both Homes together. The recipe was banana and cheese omelette, and while most had never tried it before, it quickly became a favourite.

Led by Lifestyle Coordinator Joanne, the morning was filled with conversation, laughter and second helpings. Residents worked together, shared stories and enjoyed spending time with others.

Regis Camp Hill recently welcomed a group of Japanese students from the Global Student Institute for a morning of cultural exchange and shared activities. Residents joined the students in traditional Japanese games like Karuta, tried their hand at origami and calligraphy, and even took part in a lively version of Japanese rock, paper, scissors.

The morning was filled with conversation and laughter. Residents sang “Hana wa Saku (Flowers Will Bloom)” alongside the students and took on chopstick challenges with enthusiasm.

It was a meaningful visit that brought generations together and gave residents the chance to experience something new.

Greta brought keepsakes from her time as a Swimming Marshall. Ian displayed handmade models and a toy dog he’s kept since childhood. Elizabeth shared a memory blanket created by her family, with stories stitched into every square.

The session was a chance to connect, reflect and learn more about each other.

Residents from our Birkdale and Yeronga Homes recently travelled to Queens Park in Toowoomba to experience the annual Flower Festival. The gardens were alive with colour, offering a vibrant backdrop for a day filled with conversation, discovery and joy.

As they walked among the floral displays, residents shared memories, connected with one another and enjoyed sweet treats in the spring sunshine. For many, a simple ice cream became a highlight, adding a refreshing touch to a day already full of warmth.

Resident Gina reflected on the experience, saying, “It was the best day to be out and to visit this lovely place again.”

The outing created a memorable experience for all, bringing people together through friendship, flowers and fun.

Our Victorian residents have Grand Final fever! At yesterday's annual AFL Luncheon at the MCG, we asked our residents and employees why they love footy and who they're tipping to take home the premiership this year.

The AFL Luncheon is part of our Inter-Home Community Events program, and brought together more than 175 Aged Care residents and Home Care clients for a day of football memories, friendship and celebration.

A day to remember at the MCG.

With Grand Final week in full swing, more than 175 Aged Care residents and Home Care clients from across Victoria came together at the MCG for our annual AFL Luncheon.

Hosted in the Jack Ryder Room, the event was full of football memories, laughter and friendship. A highlight for many residents was the chance to have their photo taken with both the AFL and AFLW Melbourne Football Club Premiership Cups - a moment that sparked plenty of smiles and stories.

For over 20 years, Sue has been a familiar face at Regis. Her journey began as a Personal Care Assistant, caring for and creating strong connections with residents at Regis Sunraysia, a role she describes as both challenging and deeply rewarding.

“I’ve had some very special moments over the years. I’ve had such a lovely time with all the residents that it’s kept me here, it’s been priceless.”

After recently transitioning into the role of Lifestyle Assistant, Susan felt like it was the next step in her journey at Regis.

Regis Home Care Darwin clients have been making the most of hydrotherapy sessions at Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre. Led by Physiotherapist Phil and Therapy Assistant Judy, the program offers gentle movement, balance support and a chance to connect.

With lanes hired exclusively for the group, the pool has become a regular meeting place. Clients often speak about the benefits of the heated water and the supportive instructors.

“The favourite thing in my 88 years has always been the water. Now, in warm water, oh my, heaven,” said Charli. “My body is moving better now.”

Regis Camp Hill recently celebrated its third birthday with a day shared by residents, families and team members. The event featured live music, champagne and four homemade cakes.

Speeches from residents Margaret and Nail added heartfelt moments to the celebration. Margaret, who moved in during the Home’s second week, shared, “I’ve made so many wonderful friends and memories that I treasure.”
