April was Autism Awareness Month and our Director Tessa had the honour of speaking at The Foundation Autism and Neuroscience Luncheon 💚🧩 Tessa was a part of a panel of incredible experts and had the privilege of sharing what occupational therapy actually is, and how it can support individuals work towards meaningful goals. Thank you for having us and for all that you do to advocate for this community ✨

Did you know our OTs can support children to build emotional intelligence? 🧠✨

OTs can help foster emotional awareness by identifying sensory factors and underlying triggers, building awareness of body clues, building problem solving skills, as well as teaching and creating practical and personalised regulation tools 😌 OTs empower children and their families to validate and understand emotions and support regulation on an individual level 👧🏼👦🏽

THURSDAY TIP: blowing bubbles is a wonderful regulation tool to promote deep breathing in a fun and interactive way 🫧
