Steve mentions Sattva in his book ‘fully human’ Sattva meaning our waking state. Where we find complete balance. Qualities of a sattvic state are: Intelligent, light, clarity, peace, spaciousness, love and unity. When we are in a sattvic state we can look at the world clearly without blinders, without ego, without needing to make it ours or put our story into it.

🔍 Shoulder Pain? Neck Pain? Ever heard of
a subscapularis release 💪 ✅ during your remedial massage session, Brooke can teach you how to do a subscapularis release yourself for maintenance and ongoing pain management.

The subscapularis is one of the four rotator cuff muscles in your shoulder. 🏋️‍♂️ 🧘‍♀️

Pain due to subscapularis tightness or rotator cuff issues typically manifests as:

1. Anterior Shoulder Pain:
You may feel discomfort in the front of the shoulder, which can radiate down the upper arm.

2. Limited Range of Motion:
Difficulty with movements involving internal rotation or reaching behind your back.

3. Shoulder Weakness:
Weakness or difficulty lifting the arm or performing overhead activities.

4. Pain with Specific Movements:
Aggravated pain when performing actions like pushing, lifting, or rotating the arm.

22/07/2024

In Chinese Medicine theory, warmth aids in the smooth functioning of the spleen and stomach, which are central to digestion and energy distribution. Cold foods and drinks are thought to hinder this process, leading to stagnation or a weakening of the digestive system (Stomach & Spleen In particular). Warm foods and drinks, on the other hand, are seen as nourishing and strengthening.

Key take aways:in cooler seasons eat and drink more warm foods and fluids unless you have significant signs of heat (a TCM practitioner can help identify hot patterns)

Avoid cold, raw foods, icy drinks or ice cream in the lead up to your period and during your bleed 🩸 to prevent “internal cold” or “stagnation patterns” or may cause a further weakening action on the Stomach and Spleen - cold contracts and may contribute to painful periods in Chinese Medicine Theory.
