Looking for a fun, easy way to stay active and meet new people? Join a friendly crew of locals who walk together every Tuesday (beginner’s level) and Thursday at 9:30am, and enjoy a relaxing coffee afterwards! ☕️ 🍪

🌼 A beautiful day of community & connection! 🌼

Last Saturday, Dr Mark and Dr Yota were honoured to visit the Gurdwara Sahib Sikh Temple in Blackburn as part of the Whitehorse Seniors Festival, where over 150 attendees came together to celebrate culture, connection and positive ageing 🙌

We were warmly welcomed by our generous host Sumeet and the wonderful Sikh community, who shared their traditions, stories and a tour of the temple and incredible industrial kitchen where hundreds of meals are served to the community 🥘 ✨️

What a wonderful experience and a reminder of the power of kindness, cultural exchange and great food of course! 🧡

Did someone say "I'm boooored.."?
School holidays are here! (every parent's favourite time of the year 🤪)

Here’s a practical guide to help you get through it without losing your mind!

⏰️ 1. Loosen up your routine a little

Kids thrive on some structure even during breaks. Set basic anchors like a wake up time, meal times, rest time and of course screen free outdoor times

🛴 2. Plan a Mix of Activities

Balance screen time with creativity, movement and rest. Bust out the dress up box, have a LEGO challenge, a baking day or scavenger hunt!

🌞 3. Get Out of the House Daily

Even a short 15 min walk resets moods, especially in winter

🧠 4. Make a “ I’m Bored” Jar

Fill a jar with simple activity ideas. When they say “I’m boooored” they draw one! This works even better if you get the kids to contribute to the ideas in the jar
