Join Us as a Volunteer at SIBA!
SIBA is inviting 1-2 long-term volunteers from the sangha or broader community to help support our endeavours. It’s an excellent opportunity for those looking to serve, connect with like-minded individuals, and build or continue a spiritual practice in a peaceful and natural environment.
What’s Offered:
• _Live onsite for 6-12 months in a peaceful, nature-filled environment surrounded by the state forest near Snowy River National Park
• _Volunteer for 25 hours per week in exchange for accommodation, groceries, and use of the facilities and serene outdoor spaces
• _Tasks include cleaning, property and garden maintenance, and supporting various retreats throughout the year (tasks may evolve based on your skills)
What We Seek:
• _Volunteers who can work independently and are passionate about contributing to our spiritual community
• _People interested in starting, continuing or strengthening their practice while helping to sustain our retreat centre
About SIBA: In East Gippsland, SIBA is a Buddhist retreat centre surrounded by stunning nature and abundant wildlife. We host various retreats, including meditation, yoga, health and wellness. To help support income generation, we also offer accommodation via Airbnb and Hipcamp, which provide a place of solace and self-retreat to people living in the hustle and bustle. We have seen wonderful people exposed to the way of Buddhism.
An organic permaculture garden is in the works of being returned to production to support the SIBA community. Our small, dedicated community comprises spiritual practitioners who value peace, mutual respect, and sustainable healthy living.
