Lest We Forget – ANZAC Day

Today, we pause to honour and remember the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.

ANZAC Day is a time to reflect on the bravery of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, and to recognise all who have dedicated themselves to protecting the freedoms we enjoy today.

At Hammond Health, we acknowledge the importance of this day and pay our respects to veterans, service members, and their families.

🌏 International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

At Hammond Health, we believe healthcare should be safe, respectful, and inclusive for every person who walks through our doors.

Today, we stand against racism in all its forms and reaffirm our commitment to creating a practice environment where diversity is welcomed, cultural backgrounds are respected, and equitable care is the standard — not the exception.

Observed annually on 21 March, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is a global reminder that discrimination has no place in our communities — and certainly no place in healthcare.

At Hammond Health, we are committed to:
🤝 Providing culturally safe, patient-centred care
🌏 Respecting all identities, languages, and lived experiences
⚖️ Delivering equitable access to healthcare services
💬 Listening without judgement

Healthcare works best when everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Together, we continue to foster a practice where inclusion isn’t just spoken about — it’s lived every day.

We can’t wait to share more about the amazing work they do, the roles they play, and the impact they have on our community.
💬 Leave some love in the comments for our nurses — they truly deserve it. 💛 Your appreciation means more than you know.

🌍 Imagine a gender equal world.

A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.
A world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive.
A world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Together, we can forge gender equality. 💜

International Women’s Day 2026 ( ) marks 115 years of advocating for women’s rights and advancement. Since 1911, International Women's Day has belonged to everyone who believes in equality.

Today, and every day, we:
✨ Celebrate women’s achievements
✨ Raise awareness about discrimination
✨ Take action to drive gender parity

Every action counts. Every voice matters. All IWD activity is valid — and that’s what makes it so powerful and inclusive.

Let’s stand together and continue building a future where equality isn’t imagined — it’s reality. 💜

💗 Random Acts of Kindness Day 💗

Today is a beautiful reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference.

Random Acts of Kindness Day encourages us all to spread love, compassion and positivity through simple, unexpected gestures — whether that’s checking in on a neighbour, offering a smile, buying someone a coffee, or simply taking a moment to listen.

At Hammond Health, we see every day how powerful kindness can be in healthcare. A warm word, a gentle approach, or a little extra time can mean everything to someone who needs support.

Let’s create a ripple effect of kindness in our community today — and every day.

💚 Reach out.
💗 Be present.
🌸 Spread kindness.

It’s that time of year again! National Condom Day is almost upon us, landing on February 14th, Saturday 2026. Sharing the date with Valentines Day, National Condom Day is an opportunity to celebrate safer s*x and relationships. At SHQ we believe everyone has the right to learn about s*xual health so that we can have healthier relationships, and safer, consensual, and pleasurable s*x.

Condoms are one of the oldest contraceptives around, and have helped to prevent pregnancy and s*xually transmitted infections – humans invented them before we knew what germs were, and before we even had electricity! They’ve been found across the globe – Ancient Egypt used fine linen, and in Ancient Rome they used sheep or goat intestines. In Ancient China they used silk paper, and in Ancient Japan they used tortoiseshell. In the mid-1800s, they were made out of rubber (and could be washed and reused…).

Thankfully, condoms today are made out of latex (or polyurethane if you have an allergy!), and come in different sizes, colours, with studs or ribs, flavours, and more. Condoms aren’t a barrier to pleasure or fun, but are a way to increase safety, pleasure and fun with s*x.

Taking part in our National Condom Day campaign gives everyone the opportunity to learn about condoms and safer s*x, and also start discussions and ask questions. Displaying posters, and handing out condoms and stickers is a great way to start conversations!

Each year in Australia around 1,900 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. In most cases the cancer will be diagnosed at an advanced stage, where it is very difficult to treat.

That is why we're committed to ensuring that every Australian knows more about ovarian cancer and its early symptoms.

We need progress. Let's shine a light on ovarian cancer this Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

The campaign
Cancer touches millions of lives in countless ways but it doesn't define who we are. We are more than a disease, more than a statistic. The World Cancer Day campaign 2025-27 “United by Unique” places people at the centre of care and explores new ways of making a difference. It offers a three-year journey from raising awareness to taking action.

☀️ Beat the Heat – Stay Safe in Hot Weather ☀️

With hotter days and more frequent heatwaves, it’s important to protect yourself and your loved ones from heat-related illness.

🔥 Extreme heat can cause serious illness, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke — and in severe cases, hospitalisation or worse.

👥 People most at risk include:
• Babies and young children
• Adults over 65
• Pregnant women
• People with heart, lung, kidney disease, diabetes, or mental health conditions
• People working outdoors or socially isolated

🚨 Watch for signs of heat exhaustion:
• Headache, dizziness, nausea
• Heavy sweating, pale skin
• Muscle cramps, weakness
• Not urinating much

🚑 Call 000 immediately for signs of heat stroke:
• Confusion, slurred speech, collapse
• Very high body temperature
• Hot, dry skin or seizures

💧 How to stay safe in the heat:
✔ Drink water regularly (even if not thirsty)
✔ Stay inside during the hottest part of the day
✔ Use air-conditioning or fans
✔ Wear light, loose clothing
✔ Take cool showers or use cool packs
✔ Close blinds and curtains to keep your home cool

🏥 If symptoms are concerning:
Call Healthdirect on 1800 022 222 or 000 in an emergency.

If you have a chronic medical condition or take regular medications, speak to your GP about how heat may affect you. If you want to change your appointment to a telehealth please just let us know.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and check in on those around you. 💚
