Osteo Aleasha just attended a Paediatric Course in Melbourne and to her surprise a friend from University was also advancing her knowledge by taking part in the same course.

Aleasha and Courtney hadn’t seen each other since they completed their University degree. These surprises are the extra bonuses of travelling interstate to attend a course in person.

While in the city of Melbourne for her dry needling course Osteo Aleasha had a chance to get some much needed treatment.

She found that an old university friend was practicing 500m from where she was staying. It was only natural for Aleasha to check out Isabel’s clinic.

If you’re in the centre of Melbourne and in need of a treatment, Aleasha highly recommends Isabel Tan at Back in Health Osteopathy (179 Queen Street)

Today, June 21, is Shades for Migraine Day!

Show you care, wear a pair. Post a photo or video of yourself, family, friends, coworkers or pets wearing sunglasses in the comments and challenge 3 friends to take part too.

Shades for Migraine is a global awareness campaign that asks everyone to wear a pair of sunglasses to show their support. There are 1 billion people worldwide living with migraines, but the number of those impacted is much greater.

Are you one of those people who suffer from migraines? Did you know we can help you?

Through hands-on therapy, Osteopath’s have the skills and knowledge to assess your migraine and decide on the most effective course of action for you. Treatment aims to improve the quality of movement in the neck, reduce muscular tension, decrease pain, optimize blood flow and reduce irritation of nerves.

To book in you can phone 69 717 780 or book online at https://www.waggaosteo.com/

Men’s Health Week 2024 - Know your man facts mental health

1 in 2 men experience a mental health disorder in their lifetime and su***de is the leading cause of death for males under the age of 55 in Australia.

As men account for 3 in 4 su***des. We think it’s critical to talk about the issues impacting so many men and look at what can be done to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Some of the signs to look out for include:
- Are they becoming withdrawn?
- Have they experienced big changes in their personal or professional life?
- Are they confused, irrational or moody?
- Have they lost interest in what they used to love?
- Are they experiencing health issues?

If you are concerned about someone, trust your gut and ask “Are you OK?”. Listen with an open mind to what they have to say and ask them what you can do to help.

Men’s Health Week 2024

Wear BLUE Day is celebrated every year on the Friday of Men’s Health Week! Show us your blue today Friday 14th.

Wear BLUE day helps raise awareness and education about men’s need to seek regular checkups. Health checks can save men’s lives.

These checks can include:
- knowing your numbers (Body Mass Index, Blood Pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar)
- getting your senses checked (eyes, ears, teeth, etc)
- checking down under (testicular cancer, Prostates cancer, bowels)
- other types of cancer (skin, lung, etc),
- heart checks
- head checks (mental health, depression, anxiety)
- check your habits (smoking, drinking, diet, exercise)
- all other health issues (gout, viruses, musculoskeletal injuries, etc)

It is important for men to visit their GP regularly to help them feel supported in maintaining good health and wellbeing, and address any concerns that may arise.

Men’s Health Week 2024

Men with mates live longer lives; yet 1 in 4 men have no good mates and 1 in 3 men experience loneliness.

Take action now! Men and women should encourage boys and men to make new mates and stay in contact with old ones. Joining the local sporting club or Men’s shed could be somewhere to start.

Creating strong bonds with your mates leads to a healthy life.
