This week I was interviewed on ABC Drive radio Sydney about hyaluronic acid as a skin care ingredient- what it actually does and is it useful.
I thought I’d share my key points with you here 🥰
* HA is a naturally occurring polysaccharide and holds x1000 it’s weight in water
* its primary use as a topical skincare ingredient is skin hydration
* products containing a mixture of high and low molecular weight HA pe*****te better into more layers of the skin
* it is useful for people with acne and rosacea as it hydrates without adding oil to the skin
* my preferred way to use it for dry skin is to layer a HA + B vitamin serum underneath a cream or skin oil. This helps trap and hold moisture
* hydrated skin looks more youthful, this is the only pro-ageing reason to incorporate it into your skincare routine. If photoaging and fine lines and pigmentation are an issue, other products will be needed to address that.
Hope this helps when confronted with a barrage of skincare ingredients!

Both are from and are sold in clinic 🥰
