GOOD TALK

GOOD TALK GOOD TALK is a nonprofit organisation established to raise awareness and funds for Bi-Polar research. Bi-Polar Disorder affects one in seventy Australians.

GOOD TALK is named in memory of our son/brother/mate Graeme "Reidy" Reid who lost his life to Suicide after years of struggling with Bi-Polar Disorder. We chose GOOD TALK for the name of the foundation as this phrase was one of Graeme's favourites which he injected into most conversations. This condition causes extreme mood swings varying from chaotic exuberance of mania to severe depression. Our

aim is to raise funds for Bi-Polar research. All monies raised will be donated to the Bipolar Disorders Unit at the School of Psychiatry of University of New South Wales research program "Bi-Polar Kids and Sibs" run by Professor Philip Mitchell, Director Bi-Polar Disorders Clinic.

Today is No Talk Day, so we've turned off the mics.

From 6 AM to 6 PM, all shows, news, traffic updates, and advertising will pause for one simple reason: to give Triple M listeners the space to check in with themselves and each other.

Every day, an average of 8.8 Australians die by su***de, and three in four are men. Whether it’s picking up the phone and calling a mate or going for a walk, we're encouraging you to start a conversation.

For support, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or visit lifeline.org.au/talk.

Good Talk is proud to join the Shaka Project initiative by creating a team dedicated to change.

From Monday 9th till 15th June, we’ll be running, walking, or riding 7km for 7 days – honouring the 7 men we lose every day to su***de in Australia.

We invite anyone and everyone to join our team – move in your own way, donate, and help us raise awareness.

Let’s create a world where these statistics shift, where men feel safe to speak up, and where mental health is met with real support.

Together, we keep talking 🖤

How good is this 🙌🏼🏉🏐

A huge thanks to Marrar Football & Netball Club Inc for hosting your mental health round against EWK in support of Good Talk. Your continued support means the world and is deeply appreciated. The community you’ve built at Marrar is something to be proud of—one that fosters a safe, open space for players, supporters, and locals to speak up and look after their mental health.

To everyone who donated, brought merch or even just checked in on someone yesterday, you really are making a difference! Thank you as well to East Wagga Kooringal Hawks for supporting the day and a massive congratulations to Jake Barrett on taking home the Graeme Reid BOG medal 🥇

Let this round be your reminder to check in on yourself, your friends and family. You never know who might be struggling ❤️

A big thank you to Marrar FNC for supporting Good Talk and helping break the stigma around mental health, one round at a time 🙌🏼

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from our Good Talk family to yours 🤍

The last couple years have been our biggest yet here at Good Talk as we have seen so much growth as an organisation. This wouldn’t be possible without the amazing community we have surrounding us so thank you so much.

Thank you to our amazing committee for all that you do. Behind the scenes of running a non-for-profit organisation can be both rewarding but challenging. Thank you for being as passionate about Good Talk as we are and for creating a space where people in our community can raise awareness and funds for Bipolar Research!

We are wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday and to those who struggle this time of year, we send you all the love in the world.

We can’t wait to be back again next year doing what we love and creating awareness around mental health and showing people that the world is a better place when they are in it.

If you or someone you know is struggling these holidays, call lifeline on 13 11 14. Available 24/7.

Big love 🖤
