To mark 100 years of care, Calvary Riverina Hospital will plant 100 ornamental pear trees at Gissing Oval in Turvey Park.
For centuries, trees have symbolised life, renewal and connection, and the pear tree holds special meaning in Calvary's story.
At the first convent of the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary in Nottingham, a pear tree grew in the garden where Venerable Mary Potter and the early Sisters prayed, planned and celebrated as their mission took root.
You’re invited to dedicate a pear tree to someone special, in memory, in gratitude, or in celebration. Sponsor a tree and create a living tribute that will grow for generations: https://ow.ly/LvJV50YtcaW 🌳
The community tree planting event will take place later in the year, with details to be shared closer to the date. Everyone will be welcome to attend.
