Such practical advice for self-managers!
👩⚕️ NDIS new invoice limits for Self Managers
👋📄 Hey Self Managers – Uploading invoices!
❓ Have you noticed a change when you’ve made a payment request over the past week or so?
💲 Yep, the NDIS have changed the $$ threshold that requires you to upload an invoice when you make a payment request. It’s not consistent though, and I suspect we should expect further changes. They like to keep us on our toes!
🫤 The idea is that if people don’t know the limit, they will just get used to uploading every invoice. It looks like it recently changed to a $1000 limit, but your plan might have a different setting!
📄 I have to admit, as much as I hate the time it takes to do all this work, I now just upload EVERY invoice when I claim (except when the app is not working and I have to use the laptop).
👇 There are a few different ways to do this. Here are a few ideas:
1. Open the invoice on your computer, and use your phone to take a photo of the invoice when you make your claim through the NDIS app on your phone. OR
2. If you only want to use your phone, as your invoices come in on your email, take a screenshot. Then, as you claim each one, you can choose the right photo. And after you’ve made the claims, you can move the photos to an album on your phone – that way you know which invoices you have already claimed, and you have a full record of “evidence’ stored in a photo album (you should probably also store that album in the “cloud” so you can access it from your laptop, or in case you change phones) OR
3. If you’re a dinosaur like me, you can print out each invoice, and take a photo as you make the payment request on your phone app. You don’t need to save all the invoices as pdf files – you can just take a photo!
🧐 Do you upload invoices in a different way? I’m keen to hear other ways to do this!
Thanks all!
