✨ Truth #1: Your nervous system runs on electrical frequencies – like a radio station ✨
Every emotion, thought, and state of mind is linked to the electrical rhythms of the brain. These rhythms, called brainwaves, are measured in Hertz (Hz). Neuroscientists have identified several types:
• Delta (0.5–4 Hz): deep sleep and restoration
• Theta (4–8 Hz): relaxation, creativity, memory integration
• Alpha (8–12 Hz): calm focus, meditative states
• Beta (12–30 Hz): alertness, problem-solving (but also linked to stress when overactive)
• Gamma (30+ Hz): peak focus, learning, consciousness integration
Research in neurophysiology and EEG studies shows that when these brainwave patterns are balanced, we experience emotional regulation, clarity, and resilience (Başar, 2012; Buzsáki & Watson, 2012).
But when the nervous system falls out of sync—such as excessive high-beta activity or disrupted alpha rhythms—the result can be anxiety, racing thoughts, and a brain that just won’t quiet down (Niedermeyer & da Silva, 2004; Harmony, 2013).
👉 The good news? Practices like meditation, breathwork, movement, and therapies that target nervous system regulation can help “retune” these frequencies—like adjusting a radio dial back to a clear signal.
