Nutrition to Nourish

Nutrition to Nourish Nutrition to Nourish is a fully accredited dietetic clinic - but we are more than that. At Shaping Solutions we know that diets come and go.

Nutrition to Nourish staff cherish their clients and feel passionately about helping them to foster positive relationships between food, mind and body. Motivation when fad dieting does not last forever and weight will come off and then go back on. This is because everyone is different and has a different style of eating that is right for them. We can help you work out the best approach for you. It

may mean using some theories from a Paleo approach; and some from a Mediterranean diet but it does not have to mean all or nothing. Imagine the energy and time you will have to spend on more important things if you are not worried about that teaspoon of sugar in your coffee. We can also help you meet your health goals, whether it be preventing or managing diabetes, cholesterol or blood pressure or consuming the right balance of nutrients at the correct times pre and post exercise to improve fitness. Do you have bloating, diarrhoea or cramping? Are you tired of cutting out foods with no improvement? Or confused what to cut out? We can assist you to determine what foods are causing your irritable bowel symptoms.

Ready-to-eat meals can be extremely convenient when time poor, but not all meals are created equal.
When choosing a healthy option, here's what to look for:
✅Protein > 20g per serve – to keep you full & fuel recovery
✅ Energy < 1500kJ – for balanced energy intake
✅ Sodium ideally < 250mg/100g – to support heart health

💪CREATINE💪
A supplement that is becoming increasingly popular.
But what is it and do you need it...?
Creatine is commonly used to enhance athletic performance, increase muscle mass, and support short and intense bursts of exercise.
It may also improve cognitive function and memory plus aid in recovery from injury and exercise.
Research shows creatine is particularly important for women who typically have 70-80% less stores than men. Supplementing can not only help increase strength, but support inflammation during menstruation, pregnancy, peri menopause, and menopause.
Overall, we recommend creatine if you're aiming for better strength and endurance + better recovery, function, and inflammation management.
The standard dose of creatine is ~5g per day.

Protein is important for weight loss. But it is also important to consider the protein sources you choose.

Are these lean proteins?

Does the product have any other nutritional benefits? (like calcium, fibre, or reduced sugar)

Considering the overall calorie and fat content is also important when choosing a protein-based product that aligns with your goals.

✨Building a healthy, balanced meal starts with your pantry!✨

Here are my go-to pantry staples that I keep stocked to whip up nourishing meals that support overall health, no matter how busy life gets.

🍅 Canned Goods: Tinned tuna and salmon are my go-tos for creating protein packed lunches in a snap.

🌾 Whole Grains: Brown rice, quinoa, and oats are perfect for energy and fibre, keeping you full and satisfied.

🥫 Legumes & Beans: Canned chickpeas, black beans, and lentils are plant-based protein powerhouses that are so versatile. I love adding them to soups, salads, or grain bowls for an extra protein and fiber boost.

🥜 Nuts & Seeds: Almonds, chia seeds, and flaxseeds are fantastic sources of healthy fats, protein, and omega-3s. I sprinkle them on everything from oatmeal to smoothies for a nutrition boost.

🛢️ Healthy Fats: Olive oil is a pantry must-haves! It's healthy fats support heart health and is great drizzled over your salads or used as a base for dressings.

🌿 Herbs & Spices: Flavour doesn’t have to come from excess salt or sugar! I keep my pantry stocked with herbs and spices like turmeric, cumin, cinnamon, oregano, and smoked paprika. Not only do they add depth to any dish, but many also offer powerful health benefits, like reducing inflammation and supporting digestion.

By keeping these essentials on hand, you can build balanced meals in minutes, supporting both your body and your metabolism. What’s in your pantry? Comment below!👇
