Our family has made it across the Nullarbor.. just! And in to Perth.

Before i left i asked some of my clients family and carers to write me a review, to hopefully help new clients families understand how i may be able to help them. I have been so touched with the responses I have got (and may have shed a tear). Although as i said to them, it was actually my privilege to be in their childrens lives 🥰

Part 1: Just some of the photos i have shared with this amazing young boy during some of our time together in the community, and STA respite in our home.

His relationship with my daughter Tabitha has been so amazing to watch, she has learnt to use prolo and some key word sign to communicate with him and is always up with us at the crack of dawn so she can hang out with us too!

I have known him since prep at school, and he has taught me so much along the way and shaped the way i care. It has been a privilege to see him grow and learn so much.

I will miss him sooooo much and his lovely family who have become friends along the way. A trip to Perth has been promised!

One of the many things i love about my job is meeting people from all walks of life and having the best conversations. I love listening to stories about peoples lives, experiences and day to day chatting that puts a smile on both our faces.

I love that when i look after clients, i also build relationships with their families aswell, part of the holistic care i hope to provide.

I will miss this lovely human so much when i move to Perth, we could talk for hours, he has taught me so much, and i will miss his warm smile and cheeky sense of humour 🥰

Although on a day to day basis, we use Auslan finger spelling to communicate, this lightwriter text to speak device helps up to get deeper into conversation.

It has been a great addition to enhance and develop our communication.

I love this picture so much, we are so lucky to have this beautiful girl in our home each week.

It is difficult to pick pictures of all the amazing respite weekends we have had with this beautiful girl. Our family has the privilege of sharing time with her and we always have so much fun.

Her parents are happy she can have respite in a safe, secure, and familiar place. With children to play with, and cats to stroke!

I believe that at Holistic-alli care, i can provide a unique experience and homely repsite for clients. Packed full of learning experiences, connection, relationship building and strengthening community links.

One of the best things about respite in a family environment, has been watching my clients and my childrens relationships blossom. They are all learning so much from each other and it is beautiful to watch 🥰

I will miss our winter walks, so peaceful.. today was all about watching the ocean and throwing stones in the water 🥰

Our Saturdays are always based around sensory needs, be it burning energy walking in the forest, watching the ocean, playing with sand, throwing sticks or scarves in the wind.

Or a need for calm like this Saturday, sitting for ages watching the water in the stream. I follow his lead.

We have had a lot of fun this summer exploring our community, keeping active walking, chatting & imaginary play, following interests, visiting the old school, sensory play with shells & loads of laughing! 🥰

Having a simple schedule and timer to hand, can really help transitions to be smoother.

When my clients know what is coming next and in how long. It can help them to follow routines, learn new skills, reduce dependence on carers and help sooth anxiety.

Holiday fun hanging out at the basketball courts, i love it when my clients and my kids get to hang out. They all love it!

A great way to keep active through interaction & connection with others, games and lots of play (who doesn't love whats the time Mr Wolf!?) 🐺

I love our weekly walks (sometimes a run as he is so excited 🥰) to Shelly beach, what ever the weather we are always smiling.. hunting for big shells & looking for animals.

Getting out in the fresh air & nature is so good for our wellbeing! 🐚
