We have news! It's finally time for us to move up to QLD to be with family. We settled on the business sale last Friday 8th August. Philip will stay on to help look after patients until the end of the year at Kings Park.
We would like to thank our amazing staff, particularly Lynne, Maureen, Amanda, Gill and Megan who were dedicated to helping us realise those goals until the end of our tenure. They will forever be a part of our family!
We would like to thank our beautiful patients for putting their trust in us to look after their podiatry needs for the last 15 years. We put our heart and soul into bringing to life our dream of creating a podiatry clinic with the highest quality care and infection control standards that felt like a safe space for all and a home away from home. Some highlights and memories for us:
- Helping well over 13,000 people with their foot issues.
- Not having to close our doors or having to let go any of the staff in the height of the pandemic, and not once having a Covid breakout in the clinic.
- That time a staff member got stuck in the toilet (after being told the lock was dodgy and not to lock the door until it was fixed) and Philip had to take the door off to rescue them.
- Recognising early on the value of the SWIFT microwave therapy and investing a big chunk of change in purchasing the technology so we could have the gold standard in wart treatment available for our patients.
- That time a truck backed into the power pole outside the clinic, cutting the power for days and Philip had to finish his treatment by the light of a phone torch.
- Accidentally going live on the website with a joke profile from one of the podiatrists that talked about how much they liked to eat food.
- Being able to support numerous people re-enter the work force with disabilities or trauma, developing their confidence and helping them determine what kinds of work matched their skills and interests. We even won an employment award for that!
- Lynne (14 years!) and Maureen (13 years!) putting up with Philip's bad jokes for so many years.
- Having our two beautiful children and having the flexibility to create a life around our little family.
We wish the new owners Ali and Hiba luck and hope they can continue the Repairs Afoot legacy we started.
With love and our best wishes,
Philip & Shaheen
