Star of the Sea Home for the Aged is a Nursing Home located in Wallaroo South Australia. We are a 70 bed home.

Today is Vietnam Veterans Day, a day where we pause and reflect on the bravery, teamwork and endurance that Australians displayed throughout the war. Thank you for the wonderful people at NYP quilters who made this amazing quilt for display in honour of those veterans who:
Lost their lives during battle
Returned home wounded, ill or injured
Lost their lives in the years since they returned
Still carry the physical and emotional scars of their service
We also pause to reflect on the impact of service on veterans families.

The Copper Coast Show is on this weekend in Kadina! Kadina Carpet court are running a competition for anyone in the area to create a portrait of a deserving volunteer. 2 of our Staff members Sonya & Virginia both completed a portriat of a volunteer. Sonyas portraits is of our new pastoral carer Kathrine and Virginias portriat is of Heather Johnson. One of our longest standing volunteers of over 25 years. If you attend the show or are in Kadina over the next couple of days please head in and vote for one of our portraits! (Ours are the 2 frames at the front.. the brown frame & white frame)

From cooking Sasusage Rolls, to our bus trip to Triple B’s Cafe, to our Garden party, new Trishaw rides kitten cuddles. We say goodbye to July and welcome the start of August!

We were lucky enough to have a visit from Capernwray Ministries Bible School, last week. Lead by James Lawrie a former Wallaroo local. James and his international students from Canada, Germany, America and Italy sang songs and shared stories from there trip travelling around Australia. They had just completed there 6 weeks Aussie Road Trip and residents thouroughly enjoyed there songs and stories!

Today was International Pjyama day!

We celebrated with a Bacon and Egg themed BBQ luncheon. Stacey (Head Chef) and all her team pulled out all the stops, alongside our nursing and care team that all got involved to dress up and create a wonderful day for our residents! We raised money for Foster children and many laughes, smiles and friendships were formed.
Thankyou again for everyone that made this day possible! 💜
