The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows
an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Na**sm take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision.

This production is a collaboration with Young People's Theatre Newcastle Inc. and Lindsay Street Players.

🎶💃 MUSICAL THEATRE 🎶💃
Musical Theatre at YPT is a fun, high‑energy class that brings together singing, dancing, and acting to help students grow in confidence, creativity, and performance skills. Classes are available for students of all levels, with age‑appropriate content taught in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Sing‑Act‑Move (Years 1–4) is the perfect introduction, helping young performers explore voice, movement, rhythm, and storytelling through upbeat and engaging activities. As students progress, Musical Theatre Courses builds ensemble skills, characterisation, and stage presence as students learn to tell stories through voice and movement.

A fantastic pathway for students interested in YPT productions, performing arts, and life‑long confidence on and off the stage. ✨
