Today is Primary Care Nurse day. Our team of nurses do a wonderful job in supporting prevention, early intervention and connection along with proactive measures to reduce hospital admissions. Thank you Annie, Millie, Sonya and Sam for the work you do within NEFM.

This week, we were sad to say farewell to Dr Bree, who has finished her time with NEFM. We wish her well as she continues with the next chapter of her medical career.

At the same time, we are happy to announce that next week that 2 new doctors join our team, Dr James Maguire and Dr Jia Hui Ong as GP registrars. Welcome to Dr James and Dr Jia, and good luck into the future Dr Bree.

🇦🇺 Australia Day Public Holiday Closure 🇦🇺

Our clinic will be today for Australia Day, Monday 26 January, due to the public holiday.

We will reopen with normal hours from Tuesday 27 January. Appointments can still be booked online.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing public holiday, and then back at it tomorrow!

EPA Victoria has issued a Air Quality alert.

Take action to reduce your exposure to polluted air using one or more of these strategies:

Stay indoors as much as possible with windows and doors closed until outdoor air quality is better.
Use a portable air cleaner with a HEPA filter if you have access to one.
Use a P2 or N95 mask.
Go to a place with cleaner air – such as an air-conditioned building like a library or shopping centre – if it's safe to do so.
If you're concerned about symptoms, see your doctor.
If you or anyone in your care has trouble breathing or tightness in the chest, call triple zero (000) for an ambulance.

Extreme heatwaves can be dangerous for everyone.

Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
