Do you ever think: “I must get more vitamin K!”? If you answered ‘no’, you’re not alone. Vitamin K helps our bodies create healthy bones, blood and tissue. Without it, we’d bleed excessively! (A sign of deficiency is if our blood does not coagulate properly after an injury or if we bruise easily although some people naturally bruise easily).
We forget vitamin K because it doesn’t have much of a public profile (only young mums talk about it because it’s given to their newborns). However, never fear. Adults on the lookout for foods containing other better-known vitamins in green vegetables, avocado, chicken, and cheese, are also dosing up on vitamin K 🥑 🥦 So keep eating your spinach! And have a chat with your Pharmacist if you feel you may need a supplement.
Don't forget your vitamin K!
