At Advanced Women’s Imaging we offer a dedicated tertiary level obstetric and gynaecologic ultrasound service.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialised scans and diagnostic procedures for women using state of the art equipment and technology.

A brief explainer of common medical imaging:
💠 X-ray
Used to diagnose bone and joint conditions.
Quick access, quick procedure.

💠Ultrasound
Uses sound waves to create images of organs and blood vessels. Guide injections.

💠CT
Detailed X-ray cross-sectional images of organs, tissue structures and blood vessels.

💠MRI
Uses magnetic fields and radio frequency waves for highly detailed tissue images.

💠PET
Shows both function and structure of organs and tissues using a radiotracer.

💠DEXA
Also called bone densitometry for early osteoporosis detection.

💠Dental
Also called OPG to assess tooth and jaw health, and plan surgery.

Each scan has a different purpose, but all deliver insights the human eye can not!

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women and even 1 in 667 men.
These aren’t just numbers. They’re our mothers, partners, friends, colleagues 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.

🔦With Breast Cancer Awareness Month around the corner, it’s time to shine a light on early detection. Chat to your doctor if you notice symptoms like a lump, pain, itch, ni**le discharge or dimpling, or if you’re concerned about your breast health.

💗 For the whole of October, we'll be donating $5 for every mammogram done at Advanced Women's Imaging. Proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to support vital research.

Mammograms matter. Early detection saves lives.

Australia's Biggest Morning Tea is a community event that raises vital funds to make a big difference for those impacted by cancer.
1 in 2 Australians are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. The Cancer Council is Australia's leading cancer charity, and they work across every aspect of every cancer.
Every day, they support people impacted by cancer when they need it most, speak out on behalf of the community on cancer issues, empower people to reduce their cancer risk, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.

COVID-19 UPDATE | The wellbeing of our patients and staff is our utmost priority and we are taking action in line with all Government and Health Authorities’ recommendations to ensure we keep our community safe. We are making necessary changes surrounding the provision of our services and all services are required to be booked in by appointment. Patients can also access Sunshine Coast Radiology’s COVID-19 Assistance Line on: (07) 5450 2920. For patients in Central Queensland, Dr Ladwig is temporarily suspending personal consultations in Rockhampton. However she will continue to report via digital channels for Central Queensland.
