Hey there 😊
Thought I’d pop a little reintroduction of myself here for those interested in who I am and what I do.
I am a 33 year old human man, grateful husband of Jess and father of 3 delightful children - Flo, Dharma and Joy. We live in Warburton, Victoria, Australia, Earth, Solar system, Orion Arm, Milky way Local Group, Virgo Supercluster, Laniakea supercluster, Universe—01 with our cat Eddie 🐱
I obviously value family and love astronomy, but I’m also an avid soccer player, cold plunger, ecstatic dancer, and to be honest, still discovering who I am as I am navigating the thick of busy parenthood and work life! Throughout my life adventures I am drawn to exploring questions such as: what is consciousness? How can we know ourselves? How can we find meaning in life? What even is reality? This spark of curiosity and wonder about life is a significant thread in the tapestry of Mitch. ✨
I am a massive nerd in many ways, and love the exploration of the deeper questions through story in all its forms - movies, TV, books. Avatar, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Song of Ice and Fire, Marvel, Dune and anything sci fi are worlds that I love to let my mind expand into. ⚔️
Over the years I have become drawn to exploring esoteric traditions to help make sense of the big questions and how cultures have navigated these over millennia. I was born into Catholicism but these days I take inspiration from a wide range of spiritual paths and teachers such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Hare Krishna, plant medicine lineages, Jesus, Ram Dass, Eckart Tolle, Terence McKenna and others. I see my personal philosophy as always open and evolving, yet I hold firm to the belief that love is the underlying and unifying force to all existence, and that yet there are many different paths up to the top of the same mountain. 🏔️
I ponder regularly what the future holds, and am curious and at times apprehensive of what will unfold in the years to come. My belief that all is well, and a divine order of things is challenged by potential earthly strife and struggle, particularly as I raise my children in this wild yet wonderful world. I wonder about the potential of global collapse in it’s many forms, the question and search for extraterrestrial life, the role of AI in humanity’s story, and whether I will be remembered as a loving and honourable man once my life as Mitch ends. 🤖
I struggle with balancing all the things. Keeping fit, eating healthy, getting enough sleep, getting s**t done, managing screen time, making time to play with the kids, maintaining contact with friends, looking after my teeth, remembering to take the bins out etc. Remembering to love myself through it all. ❤️🩹
I have an incredible relationship with Jess, my wife, who supports me and loves me and gee wizz, golly gosh, boy oh boy do I feel lucky and blessed to be in the thick of fam life with this jewel
