๐๐ผ Hi all, bit of an odd post for us but we need to get this out to community.
Our Local Heritage basement level and its windows / door were boarded and submerged in cement fill and asphalt 30-50cm above existing ground levels in 2001. The building was protected under the Planning Scheme pre-2000โฆ
This is why there is a temporary closure going in by Yarra Ranges Council November 8th next to our site.
Nobody in the public has been informed of the true reason for the closure.
Please help and share if you can ๐ฅน๐ก๐
PS: any public mention of โStory Laneโ to describe the Right of Way adjacent our property, is not a legal term. Its naming must adhere to strict rules, especially around respecting Family Names.
But, it is true that the lane was created legally as a road ONLY on our private title @ No. 3377 by Mr E. A. Story (โStorekeeperโ) in 1909 under the Land Act 1958.
It is for pedestrian access to the original Family Butcher assets, in severe disrepair since the 2001 โcement vehicular versionโ of the Right of Way was planned & installed by Councilโฆ with full awareness of the Heritage buildingโs existing assets at that time, by the way, due to private plans for full restoration on the Planning table in 2000.
