Today, on International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, we stand in solidarity with all communities impacted by racism.

Racism has no place in our workplaces, our services, or our communities. At Illawarra Women’s Health Centre, we are committed to creating safe, inclusive spaces where every woman is respected, heard, and supported.

We acknowledge the strength and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and the diverse cultures that make up our community. Australian Human Rights Commission commissioned these powerful short stories from GARUWA, to centre truth telling.

Do you need help with your tax? The UOW tax clinic can help

Need help with your tax?

The UOW Tax Clinic can assist eligible people with Individual Tax Returns, tax debt, MyGov and ATO tools and services, Tax File Number registration, small business tax, including BAS lodgement, and more.

The Clinic is a FREE service.
It is run by final year accounting students under the supervision of Registered Tax Agents.

We support vulnerable people in the community and starting this year, we also support all UOW enrolled students.

We operate at UOW Wollongong campus on Wednesday and Thursdays.

Walkins are accepted, but appointments are preferred.

Looking for a way to connect with other women in the community?

We have some wonderful weekly and fortnightly free groups happening at the Illawarra Women’s Health Centre. An opportunity to meet others, share stories and spend some time doing something for yourself.

Carer Support & Social Group - Every Tuesday
Are you caring for a family member, friend or neighbour with a disability, mental illness, chronic illness or who is frail?
Come along for a cuppa, meet other carers, share experiences and learn about the supports available to you.

Gardening Group - Every Wednesday
Connect with other women while enjoying our beautiful outdoor space, soaking up some sunshine and fresh air.
Rainy day? We’ll head indoors and make windchimes or suncatchers instead. Materials supplied and no experience needed!

Crocheting Group - (Fortnightly) Next: March 27
Looking for a creative outlet or a way to relax? Join our friendly crocheting group!
Beginners and experienced crocheters are all welcome - bring along your project or start something new.

This week we hosted a Lunch and Learn session exploring how workplaces can recognise the signs of domestic, family and sexual violence and respond with confidence and compassion.

The Centre was alive with conversation on Monday as we came together to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Our panel dived into what fairness, equality and accessible justice looks like, and the barriers that still exist for many women and girls today. We also have an incredible collaborative artwork, highlighting the strength of woman, beautiful entertainment from our talented Uke Sisters, and a delicious lunch. It was a wonderful day of connection, reflection and celebration.

Free COVID & Flu Vaccination Pop-Up Clinic

We’re hosting a free COVID and flu vaccination pop-up clinic for women on Friday 10 April from 10am–12pm at the Centre 2/10 Belfast Ave, Warilla.

Keeping your vaccinations up to date is one of the easiest ways to protect your health and the health of those around you. Staying protected against COVID and the flu can help reduce serious illness and keep our community safe this winter.

The clinic will be run by the wonderful team from Priceline Pharmacy in Shellharbour.

Free for all women!
