Returning Home has been so very special this time.
I am slowly allowing myself to be embraced by the Tunisian ways.

Not rushing, not pressuring myself, just slowly calibrating, reconnecting, being.

The Sahara Project slowly shaping itself with seeds sprouting here and there. The complexity of the place merging with my own.

A multitude of identities trying to call for your whole attention and me, observing, seeing the similarities with my own processes.

It's funny being an insider and an outsider all at once.

I see details nobody seems to think matter. I read of Mākereti Papakura and I understand her.

There hasn't been much rain they said. Tonight it is raining. The wild Narcissus will be flowring tomorrow.

The blue doors will open, as I walk through them.

Hot Damn!

I got set straight. After hanging with my family - A family that's full of love despite the incredibly hard things we've each gone through individually and collectively; a family that chooses peace and unity over and over when we could easily decide to let difference pull us apart - I felt already amazing.

The pastries and food definitely helped (at first, but then there's only so much sugar and butter I can truly take 😅).

Then, something even more incredible happened.

I got set straight.

Mentors flying right left and centre.

I shared my vision and got reminded of a few things.

1. Don't reinvent the wheel. Read, tweak, follow. Some people have done the hard work of trailblazing, adjust their path to your work.

2. Check your biases and ego, especially when you are being righteous.

3. And more importantly: Do not compromise. Do not soften your voice to avoid rocking the boat. Rock that thing!

And to be completely honest, it might just be where I have to channel my rage.

I'd been wondering what to do with my rage. The wrath I feel towards injustice (against women, people of colour of which I am part, children, peoples, nature) and manipulative practices of governments and media.

And then I met Wayne, visual activist who turned his anger into art.

My rage will have to go into being uncompromising in my projects.

4. Big things require another level of commitment.

Most significantly even, the last 3 weeks reminded me how loved I am - it's easy to forget when you're far from people that know you deeply;

I am so guided and carried;

I've impacted so many. That, you see, matters to me. Because everything I do is to help others do better faster than I did. All I do is to lift you, to give you the courage, the strength, the inspiration to take your life by its horns and ride away into the sunset if you're so enclined.

~ Thank you Tessa for caring for me, for your incredible love and gentleness for your clever mind and strong hugs. For your honesty and presence. Brixton is lucky to have you ~

It won't be enough to do talk therapy.
It won't be enough to learn your thought patterns.
It won't be enough to learn your emotional baseline.
It won't be enough to do rituals and breathwork.

You also have to work consciously with your body.
Your body holds the physical doorway to your nervous system. It stores emotions. It triggers sensations that go with certain thoughts.

It is so important to rewire patterns, but if they are not anchored in your body with deep safety, I guarantee, they will come back.

That's why the HOURIA Process is special.

It uses all entry points, starting with the safest for you, so you can achieve fast and long term positive change.

Don't take my word for it, all previous clients will say it.

Derek: "I've achieved in 3 sessions with Sonia what I couldn't in 12 years of therapy"

Rosie: "Sonia holds such a non judgemental and loving mirror to you that all you can do is achieve your goals"

Gillian: "Thanks again for all your help with my healing. I feel so at peace within myself, I can't thank you enough, it's truly been life changing for me".

When you're ready, reach out.

Xx

Most women don’t struggle because they lack knowledge or effort.

More often, it’s because they haven’t been taught how to listen and give space to themselves.

They are unaware of how their inner ecosystem truly works,
and how the body, breath, emotions, mind and intuition speak to one another.

Women Make Waves exists to help bridge that gap,
so women can lead with deep calm, clarity,
and grounded confidence.

This year, we start with a conversation with Veronica Robin, founder of and plastic-free living advocate.

In the first guest episode of Curious With Sonia, we explore what it really means to live more consciously without the pressure of doing it perfectly.

From food and plastic to habits, choice, and everyday impact, this is a grounded conversation about sustainability that actually feels doable.

If you want to start the year with a resolution that’s easy to keep, tune in on 4 January.

Because 1% done consistently is better than getting it right once.

Progress over perfection.

And if progress, for you, is simply contemplating a change you’ve avoided until now, that counts too. Celebrate it. 💙

It's been rough having to stop moving and having to handle the pain since my work injury over 4 months ago.

My work routine was completely disrupted, adding financial instability to the mix, but mote importantly for me, it slowed me down in achieving my dream of walking the Sahara.

I have since understood it is actually for the best in terms of the project itself. Yet, going from being an active person to struggling to walk 150m without needing a break was wild.

Thankfully, things have improved and while I'm still in the crux of it, working towards improving the symptoms of an injury that will never heal, I also had a moment today.

As I was putting away the dishes, I realised I was carrying them with my left arm and I instantly saw that my current back issue will get better and I will come out of it with even deeper appreciation.

Two years ago, I stopped feeling and being able to move my left arm.
A surf injury left my nerves shut down and it took months to start getting movement back. I watched myself relearning to carry small things, to lift my arm to get out of clothes and tie my hair, and slowly to be able to paddle, to carry things like a stack of plates.

If I was capable of doing that and returning to surfing gnarly waves, nothing is going to stop me from healing my back and walking 2500km in the Sahara. No matter how ridiculous the insurance process is, and how they want me to act like a victim to justify their red tape.
