With Term 1 wrapping up, many families are taking a moment to reflect on how their child is settling into the school year.

📣 Big news for families and speech pathologists!
From 1 March 2026, Medicare is expanding support for Medicare-rebated assessments and treatment services provided by speech pathologists.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱?
The following conditions are now added to the eligible disabilities list for the Medicare M10 group:
🔹 Stuttering
🔹 Speech sound disorders
🔹 Cleft lip and/or palate

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲?
Service users must:
🔹Be under 25 years of age
🔹Have a referral from a GP, consultant physician or specialist
🔹Be suspected of, or diagnosed with, an eligible condition under the M10 list

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲?
🔹 Up to 8 assessment sessions
🔹 Up to 20 treatment sessions
(Total services available before turning 25)

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁?
Speech and language therapy often requires more than 5 sessions to make meaningful progress. This expansion enables earlier and more comprehensive intervention, giving children and young people a better chance to develop communication skills, confidence, and independence.

This week we’re celebrating Lan and her 5 years at Beam. Some of you may remember Lan's friendly face from her early days with the Beam reception team, where she helped keep everything ticking along at the front desk.

These clinics will close in the afternoon of Tuesday 23 December 2025 and reopen Monday 5 January 2026.

Tuggerah | Gosford
These clinics will operate on a limited basis over the Christmas and New Year period. No scheduled appointments, including regular therapy sessions, will be available 24 December – 2 January. Walk-in Medicare Mental Health Centre services remain available 9:00am – 5:00pm, excluding weekends and public holidays.

All Beam clinics will return to regular hours from Monday 5 January 2026.
