You don’t have to label your experience as trauma to recognize that your body has learned ways to protect you. Whether it’s anxiety, people-pleasing, or emotional numbness—these responses are rooted in survival. Here’s how they show up and what they might be asking for.

I highly recommend this for anyone that is intending to have anything to do with children.

I highly recommend this for anyone that is intending to have anything to do with children.

🌱 What if your parenting struggles aren’t about your child at all… but about your own childhood?

So many of us find ourselves parenting on autopilot repeating patterns we swore we wouldn’t.
Snapping when we wanted to stay regulated.
Withdrawing when our children most needed us close.
Feeling helpless when old wounds get triggered.

The truth is: our children hold up a mirror to what’s unresolved within us. And when we dare to explore our own story, the way we were raised, the hurts we carry, the beliefs we inherited, we unlock the power to change the story for them.

This is what Trauma-Aware Parenting is all about.
💛 Healing the past.
💛 Building awareness in the present.
💛 Creating a secure, connected future for your child.
💛 And doing it all alongside a community of parents who are walking the same path so you never feel alone in the journey.

Responding to our children doesn’t “spoil” them. It shows them they’re safe, their needs matter, and their voice is heard.

A child who learns “my parent comes when I call” grows into an adult who doesn’t have to spend a lifetime unlearning the pain of being ignored.

Connection first. Always. 🤍

This is one that I meet so often, in myself and others. I help clients with this by helping them reconnect with themselves.

Self-abandonment happens when we reject, suppress, or ignore our own needs, emotions, and intuition to maintain attachment, gain approval, or avoid pain.

Common Symptoms & Behaviors of Self-Abandonment

- Fear of rejection or being "too much"
- Over-dependency in relationships
- People-pleasing to avoid disconnection
- Chronic anxiety in intimacy
- Sabotaging closeness (before they leave me, I leave them)
- Ignoring your feelings or intuition
- Overriding your boundaries for others
- Harsh inner critic, perfectionism
- Suppressing the desire to be accepted
- Seeking worth only externally

Root Wound:
"I must disconnect from myself to be loved."
