We are thrilled to welcome Austin (AJ) to the Blossom Flourish Grow team as our new Client Connections Officer. AJ brings a warm, calm, and friendly presence to the clinic, helping families feel supported from the very first moment they reach out. In his role, AJ will be working closely with families, clinicians, and our Practice Manager, Patrick to ensure smooth scheduling, clear communication, and a seamless experience across all touch points.

With a genuine commitment to building strong relationships and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, AJ embodies our core values of Communication, Connection, and Creativity. His down-to-earth nature and thoughtful approach make him a perfect fit for Team BFG.

✨ Let’s Talk About Speech Milestones! 🗣️🌿
Ever wondered how many words your little one “should” be saying? While every child blooms at their own pace, here’s a peek at what most little communicators are doing at each stage
👶 12 months — those first magic words!
Most babies say around 1–6 words, like “mama,” “dada,” or “uh-oh.” They’re learning that words get things to happen!
👧 15 months — the copycat phase 🐒
You’ll likely hear 10+ words and plenty of adorable attempts to copy what you say. Repetition and play are your best tools right now.
👦 18 months — the “mini dictionary” stage 📚
Little ones often use 50+ words (and understand many more!). You might start hearing short combos like “more milk” or “daddy go.”
👧🏽 2 years — the chatty explorer 🚀
Your toddler could have 200+ words and is putting 2–3 words together to tell you what they want or what they see. “Big truck!” “Mummy come!”
👦🏼 3 years — the storyteller 🌈
Now we’re talking! Many 3-year-olds use hundreds of words and short sentences. They love sharing ideas, asking questions, and talking about everything!
💡 When to seek support:
If your child…
🌸 isn’t using words by 18 months
🌸 isn’t combining 2 words by age 2
🌸 seems frustrated when trying to communicate
🌸 or their speech is hard for you to understand by age 3
…a speech pathologist can help build those early connections through play, routines, and everyday moments. 💕

✨ Only Two Weeks Left Until Bec’s Next Chapter Begins ✨
It’s hard to believe that we’re down to just two weeks before our beautiful Bec spreads her wings and embarks on her next adventure. 💛
While this has been a planned move (and we’re genuinely excited to see all the incredible things she’ll go on to do), it doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier. Bec has been such a bright light in our Blossom Flourish Grow hive, bringing warmth, creativity, and care to every space she enters. 🌼
We’ll miss her laughter, her heart, and her unmistakable “bee” energy 🐝, but we’re so proud of her and grateful for the time we’ve shared.
Please join us in wishing Bec all the very best as she begins her new chapter. Wherever she goes next, she’ll continue to make things blossom, flourish, and grow. 🌿💫With love from the entire BFG team 💕

We had a very welcome 4-legged friend in the clinic today - say hello to Dolly! 💛 She brought plenty of tail wags, cuddles, and smiles to everyone’s day. There’s something extra special about the calm, happy energy our furry friends bring into the space. We think Dolly might just have found her calling as a therapy dog 🦴🌿

🎉 Fun Fact! 🧠 Understanding the Impact of 'W' Sitting 🪑👶

Have you ever noticed kids sitting with their legs twisted out to the sides, forming a “W” shape? While it might seem like a comfy go-to, this position isn’t always the best for growing bodies! Here’s why it might not be the best long-term habit 👇

🔸️ Limits Core Strength
W-sitting gives extra stability... too much! It means kids rely less on their core muscles, which can lead to weaker abdominals and back strength over time.

🔸️ Affects balance & coordination
Without strong core engagement, kids may struggle with balance during play, sports, or even walking and running!

🔸️ Reduces Trunk Rotation
Turning and twisting while playing helps build coordination between the two sides of the body. W-sitting limits that movement, it's like putting a freeze on fun motor skills!

🔸️ Stresses Growing Joints
The hips, knees, and ankles are under unusual pressure in this position, which is not ideal for little bodies that are still developing.

🔸️ Can Impact Walking Patterns
Long-term W-sitting can influence how a child walks, leading to in-toeing or pigeon-toed gait later on.

🔸️ Delays Postural Control
Kids need to develop upright posture and balance reactions. W-sitting can delay those important milestones.

💡 Pro Tip: Encourage positions like:
☑️ Criss-cross pretzel
☑️ Side sitting like a mermaid
☑️ Long sitting (legs straight out)
☑️ Lying on tummy during play (great for core strength!)
