'Consistency is the key with Acupuncture. It is often the cumulative effect of having a series of treatments that helps my patents the most.

I even feel this within myself when I have Acupuncture. The first treatment I'm too "up in my head" and can't relax, the next I am much more relaxed and I allow the treatment to take hold, by the third treatment I am experiencing results. It's like going to the gym, you can't expect to have a six pack after one session!'

‘In Chinese medicine, balance isn’t about doing everything in perfect proportion or never having a bad day. It’s about learning to flow with change — the same way nature does. The seasons don’t freak out when the weather shifts; they just… shift. If only we could be that chill.’

Have you tried cupping therapy? Like acupuncture it is an ancient technique used in traditions across the globe.
Cupping works by creating traction, a lifting upwards action that helps stretch and release the muscles and connective tissue.

Tsering Tsering Gendun- Chinese Medicine Practitioner favours the traditional method which involves thick glass cups. A flame is used to swipe inside each cup which eats out the oxygen then the cup is placed quickly onto the skin where a vacuum is created in the cup.

When cupping over areas of tension it often results in temporary discolouration of the skin which is an indication of “stagnant blood”.

Tension in the tissues leads to poorer circulation and this build up of stagnant blood can also contribute to pain and dysfunction, so it’s good to get it moving!

Seeing the colour come up means it is being shifted to an area where the lymphatic system can more effectively move it out.

It can be added to your acupuncture treatment to help combat pain and improve range of movement.

If you haven’t already tried it, we highly recommend cupping therapy!

Bookings can be made online for Tsering Gendun- Chinese Medicine Practitioner or please call reception on (02) 9986 0700 with any questions.
