This week, our Community Inclusion participants spent time learning about the importance of volunteering and recognising the incredible work volunteers do within our community. 🧡

Participants explored the meaning of National Volunteer Week and Wear Orange Wednesday, celebrating the dedication of our SES volunteers and the many people who give their time to help others.

Together, we brainstormed different volunteering opportunities within the community and created a mind map filled with ideas of how people can make a difference. Participants then designed artwork for our thankyou banner, each choosing a volunteering role that stood out to them, from animal shelters to emergency services and community support.

To show our appreciation, the group visited the local SES to take photographs and personally acknowledge the amazing work volunteers do to keep our community safe.

We are so proud of our participants for engaging so positively in conversations around community, kindness, inclusion, and giving back.🧡

The past few weeks across our programs have been full of energy, learning, and plenty of fun!

Our Life Skills group has been busy in the kitchen, building confidence and independence while cooking up some delicious meals including pancakes, tacos, and burgers.

The Community Inclusion group has been exploring what makes our local area so special. Participants have been learning about maps and landmarks around Warrnambool, as well as getting out and about to visit local beaches and the RSL, connecting their learning to real world experiences.

Friday Fun Club took a trip out to Port Fairy, enjoying a scenic walk to the lighthouse, games at the oval, lunch at Tower Hill, and finishing off the day with a hit of golf at the driving range.

Meanwhile, our Friday with Friends group enjoyed a great night out, sharing a meal at Schnitz before heading to the cinema to watch the Super Mario movie together.

It’s been fantastic to see everyone engaging, building skills, and making meaningful connections in their community!

Over the past two weeks, participants in our employment support, life skills, and community inclusion programs have worked collaboratively to design and create their own wreaths in recognition of ANZAC Day. As part of this experience, we were fortunate to visit the Warrnambool RSL, where participants learned about Warrnambool’s involvement in past wars and the important role the RSL continues to play in supporting veterans and their families.

In a meaningful gesture of respect and gratitude, our group also presented one of our handmade wreaths to the RSL ahead of ANZAC Day.

Today we acknowledge World Autism Awareness Day 💙

At 360 Southwest, we celebrate the strengths, individuality, and experiences of the people we support. Every person’s journey is different, and we’re proud to walk alongside our participants, supporting them to live meaningful, fulfilling lives in ways that matter to them.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for our program participants, enjoying learning, fun and connecting to our community!

Last week our Community Inclusion group were lucky to visit Koroit and District Primary School, where participants learned about a variety of garden spaces including vegetable gardens, indigenous gardens, and even a bee garden. It was a great opportunity to listen, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of how different gardens are designed and cared for.

In the Life Skills program, participants have been developing their cooking skills, making hamburgers, spaghetti bolognese, and cooking sausages. These sessions are a great way to build independence, teamwork, and confidence in the kitchen 🍔🍝

Today, we were lucky to have a visit from Kel, Youth Resource Officer from Warrnambool Police Station, who spoke about staying safe in the community, an important and valuable session for everyone.

🌟 Work Experience Wins! 🌟
Our participants continue to thrive in their weekly work experience roles, building confidence, independence, and real world skills. The pride and excitement they bring each week says it all 💙

We’re so grateful to our supportive community and inclusive businesses for helping create meaningful opportunities for our participants 🙌
