We are a division of St John of God Health Care, the largest Catholic not-for-profit health care provider in Australia. Our Health Services Centre provides a range of outpatient services, including rehabilitation programs. On-

site consulting suites and regular visits from medical and surgical specialists eliminates the need for people to travel for medical care. Established in 1939 St John of God Warrnambool Hospital has an emphasis on patient-focused, values-based care. Our latest independent satisfaction surveys where inpatients rated us at the 97th percentile, and day surgery patients at the 99th percentile for public and private hospitals, representing the highest ranking Australia-wide for a hospital our size. We strive to serve the common good by providing holistic, ethical and person centred care and support.

Whether at the bedside, in theatre, in clinics or supporting patients behind the scenes, their dedication, kindness and professionalism make a meaningful difference to so many people.

Anzac Day is more than a date - it’s a moment to pause, reflect, and remember.

We honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served, and the more than 100,000 Australians who have lost their lives in service to our nation. We also recognise those who continue to serve today.

For many, service doesn’t end when they return home. The invisible wounds of war, including trauma and post-traumatic stress, can last long after active duty.

For over 30 years, St John of God Health Care has supported members of Australia’s defence and veteran community through specialised trauma care - a commitment that continues to grow.

With the opening of a trauma recovery unit at our Langmore Centre in Berwick last year, we’ve expanded access to holistic, trauma-informed care for emergency services and defence personnel and their families.

Today, we remember their service and sacrifice - and reaffirm our commitment to supporting them every day.

Recently we celebrate St John of God Day, a special occasion that honours the life and legacy of St John of God, and the values that continue to guide our care every day: Hospitality, Compassion, Respect, Justice and Excellence.

It’s a time to reflect on the incredible difference our caregivers make in the lives of our patients, their families, and one another.

As part of the celebrations, we were also delighted to recognise our Length of Service Award recipients
These awards honour the dedication, loyalty and commitment of caregivers who have given so much of themselves to our hospital and our community over many years.

From those marking early milestones to those celebrating decades of service, we thank you. Your compassion and commitment are the heart of everything we do.

Today we mark Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season in the Christian calendar.

Over the next 40 days leading to Easter, Lent offers a time for reflection, renewal and spiritual growth through prayer, fasting and acts of compassion. It is an invitation to pause, turn inward and prepare our hearts for the hope of Easter 🙏

At the end of last year, we farewelled Paul and Gill from St John of God Warrnambool Hospital.

Together, Paul and Gill dedicated more than 63 years of service to our hospital, which is an incredible achievement and a testament to their commitment and care.

They will both be greatly missed by caregivers across the hospital. We are sincerely grateful for the support, professionalism and kindness they have shared with so many over the years.

We wish Paul and Gill all the very best in their retirement and in everything that lies ahead. Enjoy this well-earned next chapter.

St John of God Health Care extends our deepest condolences to everyone affected by the tragic and distressing events at Bondi Beach in Sydney over the weekend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and loved ones, the Jewish community, and the first responders and hospital teams caring for those impacted.
