The efficacy of Bioadaptive Neuro Stimulation Therapy on Fibromyalgia symptoms…
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder characterized by widespread Chronic musculoskeletal pain, tenderness, fatigue, and cognitive disturbances. It affects approximately 4% of the population, predominantly women between the ages of 20 and 60.
It does not cause visible damages which makes diagnosis challenging. Symptoms can vary in intensity, among the most common:
• Widespread pain: Persistent aching or burning in muscles and soft tissues, often in the neck, shoulders, back, and hips.
• Fatigue: Profound tiredness not relieved by rest
• Sleep disturbances: Non-restorative sleep and insomnia
• Cognitive issues: “Fibro fog” — difficulty concentrating, memory lapses
• Mood disorders: Anxiety and depression are common comorbidities
• Sensory sensitivity: Heightened response to touch, sound, light, or temperature
• Other symptoms: Headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, and tingling sensations
The exact cause of Fibromyalgia remains unclear, but the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid has carried out pioneering European research focusing on the application of SCENAR therapy in fibromyalgia patients. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was carried out by Dr Carlos Udina Cortés which highlighted the following findings:
Patient receiving Scenar therapy had a:
• Statistically significant reduction in pain levels
• Improvement in fibromyalgia-related symptoms
In addition, it provided evidence supporting SCENAR’s role in modulating central sensitization mechanism
Fibromyalgia is a lifelong condition with no cure, but with tailored Scenar treatment, and meaningful life style changes (such as regular sleep routine, improve diet and hydration and stress management) many patients achieve significant symptom control and improved function.
