🎰🎲 Casino Day!🎲🎰

What a fun-filled Casino Day we had yesterday! The dice were rolling, the cards were flying, and the laughs just kept coming 😄

Our residents had an absolute ball trying their luck, cheering each other on, and soaking up the excitement. There were big smiles, friendly competition, and plenty of winning moments and prizes they won at the end 🃏✨

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday such a hit! 🎲♣️🃏

It’s an absolute privilege to celebrate such an incredible life filled with memories, wisdom, and stories that span over a century. Your strength and spirit continue to inspire us all.

The day was filled with love, smiles, and special moments 💖

🎉 Happy New Year! 🥂

We welcomed the New Year with lots of laughter, fun and smiles all around. Our residents enjoyed a game of balloon pop filled with fun challenges, keeping everyone entertained and involved.

We then counted down to midday together and raised a glass of champagne to celebrate the year ahead 🎈🥳

🎄🦌 A Day Full of Christmas Cheer! 🦌🎄

Our residents enjoyed decorating reindeer biscuits today, supporting creativity, fine motor skills, and lots of happy conversation 🍪✨ We finished the day with beautiful carols from the choir from the Latter-day Saints, bringing smiles, joy, and a lovely sense of connection 🎶❤️

For our Director of Care Mattisse Williams and Clinical Educator Sandeep, Christmas came early with the arrival of our brand new ‘Geri-kin’ a functional manikin to asssit the clinical staff with their education and competencies to ensure all staff are working to the same standards and providing yourself or your loved one with the exceptional care Akooramak is known for.

We are however after a name for him so please comment your suggestions below.

Today we proudly recognise and celebrate one of our wonderful Direct Care Workers Deanne (Nana D) who has reached an incredible milestone — 25 years of service at Akooramak.

For a quarter of a century, she has brought compassion, commitment, and kindness to our residents every single day. Her hard work and genuine care have made a lasting difference in our community, and we are so grateful for everything she continues to do.
