Recovery isn’t passive, it’s not just rest, it’s something you can actively support ✨

Massage plays a key role by helping to down-regulate the nervous system, reduce muscle tone, improve your circulation, and create the space your body needs to actually recover.

It’s not just for when things are sore - it’s how you stay moving well, train consistently, and avoid that build-up of tension over time.

We’ve had a rare opening with our RMT Michelle tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10am & 3.15pm

At Pear, we get the juggle 🤍 The feeds, the naps, the meltdowns, the mess - and we’re always here to make it just that little bit easier.

Whether it’s holding a baby, swaying a pram, or in this case… gently swaying twins on the reformers to keep everyone happy while Mum has her appointment- we’ve got you.

Our mums & bubs classes are supported by our beautiful “cuddle mums” (blue card volunteers) who are there to lend a hand, a cuddle, or a moment of calm so you can focus on yourself too.

Video posted with Mums permission.

A hysterectomy doesn’t mean the end of lifting, strength training, or being active. We have moved past the myths of fragility and never lifting again - we now know with the right guidance, movement supports healing, strength protects long term pelvic floor health, and movement is medicine to help us age well and maintain independence.

Exercise after hysterectomy should be reintroduced with a plan - not avoided indefinitely. Being told ‘just return to what you were doing’ or ‘dont lift anything more than x ever again’ are not rehabilitation programs.

If you are preparing for surgery or planning your return to exercise afterwards, working with a team experienced in women’s health rehabilitation can make the process clearer and more empowering.

Our team would love to support you. 🍐

Great practitioners never stop learning, growing, and challenging themselves, and this last fortnight our team has been doing exactly that.

From Dani becoming a published research author, to Frankie presenting at the TRU conference, Pear being a finalist for practice of the year with ESSA, and several of our team (big shout out Amanda, Emma, Kayelene, Helena and Esme) crossing the finish line at the Kingscliff Triathlon — it’s been a huge fortnight of achievements.

Because the more we learn, the more we challenge ourselves, and the more we stay connected to our profession - the better practitioners we become for the women who trust us with their care. And we are so excited to do what we love best, support you in your rehab and achieving your goals! x

There’s nothing quite like running in the sea of pink,
💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

This weekend our Pear team joined the International Women’s Day Fun Run for our 5th year, surrounded by thousands of people moving for something bigger than themselves. It was pretty special to be out there together, running for those fighting in treatment and in celebration and memory of those we have lost to breast cancer.

I’m always so proud of our Pear team for showing up to be part of moments like this. Our community consistently gets involved in efforts that support women’s health, and it means a lot to stand together outside the clinic as well.

A big cheer to all of our Pear clients we spotted out there too. Seeing you along the course was the highlight! Whether you’re rebuilding after cancer treatment, pregnancy and birth, or returning to movement after injury - reaching these activity goals is something to celebrate. Well done 👏 👏

So proud of this community and the strength it represents

It’s the first of the month - a reminder to check your breasts.

Knowing what’s normal for you matters. A regular self-check helps you notice changes early, things like a new lump, skin changes, ni**le changes, or pain that feels different.

In the shower, lying down, or getting dressed - using the flat of your fingers, checking from your armpit all the way across the breast.

There’s no perfect technique, just familiarity.

Save this post as your monthly nudge 🤍

At Pear, we are passionate about Women's Health! Our team provide services to support pregnancy, birth, menopause, cancer, pelvic pain, injury rehabilitation and surgical rehabilitation post mastectomy & hysterectomy. We support women through every stage of life, and our team of Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapists, Remedial Massage Therapists & Nutritionists have additional training to work with Women. We recognise that there is a lack of support for women who experience injuries, illnesses or chronic diseases such as endometriosis or abdominal separation and want to help bridge the gap between diagnoses, acute rehabilitation and long term recovery and management. We hope to break down the barriers of taboo and stigma in Womens Health, by providing specialist services from our baby friendly studio, and helping all women to use exercise as medicine to improve their health.
